"We have been to the Harvester on other occasions and on this occasion was left feeling unsatisfied. The menu was rather boring. The salad bar was free but supervised which meant certain selections gave more than just a taster. The hot choices for both diners arrived well before the salad had been finished consequently sitting on the table an unnecessarily long time. I fully understand the covid protocols played some part in the ambience but nevertheless it did affect our experience. At this point in time we are looking at alternatives"

"Although it was a Saturday and Easter weekend, at 3pm the restaurant was not very busy. Despite this, our table was reserved downstairs near a family with 3 or 4 children who were being very loud. Additionally, even though it was warmer than expected, the air conditioning was turned on right next to us without asking for our preference. In my opinion, there should be a designated family area and customers should be consulted before major changes like the air conditioning being turned on."

"Fantastic service from Sarah, very happy to glass bottled Coke was available, and the unlimited salad as lovely as always. I tried The Purist vegan burger I can 't digest beef and seem to live in chicken and fish! This was easily the best non-beef burger I have ever tried, succulent and cooked perfectly. The vegan cheese substitute in it was good too, making most vegan cheese look awful in comparison. The chips were great as always and the vegan burger sauce was good enough to dunk the chips in! Skipped the starter and pudding on this occasion. Couple of things not offered I would like to see in future: lactose free milk, and lactose free cheese I have the lactose free mature Cathedral city cheddar at home . Tea and cheese with crackers would have been a perfect end to this meal, but very satisfied with the meal as was. Thank you to all the staff on duty for a very good experience."

"We visited here 2 evenings during our stay at the Premier Inn. Food was really nice. Staff were nice however Chloe really stood out. We were served by Chloe on the first evening and she was lovely, she is a natural waiting on tables. When we complimented her she explained that she usually works at the bar she is completely wasted at the bar, she is by far the best table server in the place and she should be recognised for that."

"We decided to dine at this restaurant for its convenient location near where we were staying. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegan options available. "What a lovely evening, I haven’t been to the Harvester for years and this evening was just what we needed after a very hot day ! Not only was the food great thanks to Anhar and Steve, the air con was spot on making it a pleasure to be out. Food was hot not cold like a lot of places these days..our Server, waitress was Annabel , nothing was too much for her and she was flat out as the place grew busier, always smiled … well done keep it up as this kind of service is rare nowadays , it was a great atmosphere too, very relaxing, cannot wait to return . "I have tried aylesbury harvester with friends who have suggested their eating is great. well, they have definitiw some great options for carnivores, but if they are a vegan, they try to go elsewhere. they have a very limited option for vegans eating, and if they choose to have gluten-free good, they can not order here only if they order their burger without the rolls. their salatable is also very limited because they have a good amount of vegetables, but 90% of their dressings are milk-based."

"We decided to go out for an evening meal. Pre booked for 7pm. We ordered our drinks I had a latte (which had spilt on to the serviette as she brought it to the table), no real problem as it happens quite a lot. My...partner asked for a pot of tea, she was told quite abruptly that they don't do pots of tea, so my partner asked for a refillable cold drink instead. A few moments later the server returned with no word of apology saying that she could have a pot of tea as she found some teapots. We ordered our food which arrived about half an hour later, the restaurant was not busy at all. We were asked if we wanted to go to the salad bar, if we did we couldn't serve ourselves, they had to go with you and fill your bowl up with what you choose. My partner has been several times in recent weeks and has been allowed to serve herself at the salad bar, we declined. We finished our meal and was undecided if we wanted a dessert or if we had time to have a dessert. My partner had to pick her son up from work at 9pm. The server assumed we had finished as she promptly said I will get your bill without asking if we wanted a dessert or another drink, considering the time we waited for our meal we wouldn't have had time to eat it anyway. But not to be asked is not the way to go in my opinion. She brought the bill over asked if we were paying by card or cash then walked off. She did this several times. I asked if they accepted the Defence Discount Card, she wasn't sure so off she to find out came back said that they don't and promptly walked off again without waiting for payment. We sat for a few minutes, then decided to leave the correct money on the table and leave as the server was obviously too busy to take payment. My partner has been several times at lunchtime with friends, the service has been far superior even when it has been busy, the food was on the table within 10 minutes of ordering."

"I have to say that the service we received from one of your staff members, Sam, was exceptional and far beyond the level of attentiveness, grace and skill I have come to know and expect at a Harvester or similar. We arrived early for our table booking and Sam offered us both the lunch and dinner menu explaining that the lunch menu would end soon but we could still place an order before 5pm. This in itself is honest, thoughtful and shows a willingness to make an effort to act with integrity. Sam's timings to approach our table, clear away, etc, was spot on. He was very polite, friendly and graceful. Even the way he placed the menus neatly on the table at a right angle to the table edge and the neatness of placing our dessert cutlery didn't go un noticed. These are the little details that others could learn from Sam. I can also genuinely say it is the first time in a Harvester that food has been delivered to our table and laid in front of the person who ordered it without us being asked whose dish is whose. It can be frustrating to be asked this when you've only just ordered it with the same member of staff who has brought the food to the table. It is this attention to detail that goes a long way it makes the customer feel valued and acknowledged. As I had to note his name badge so to contact Harvester, I also noted he was smart in his appearance and that any conversation we overheard between Sam and other staff members was work related, which is so refreshing in this day and age. He sets a fine example of high quality attentive customer service, which is hard to find. Had I owned a restaurant myself or in fact any business that was customer facing in Ipswich, I would have approached Sam and offered him a position right under your noses. I hope he is in a managerial position and if he isn't then he needs to be because staff like Sam in restaurants such as Harvester are gold dust. He's selling himself short working at Harvester if he isn't being recognised for what he brings! Please do pass on my compliments to Sam and share it amongst the team. Excellent work should always be recognised!"

"Not been to the harvester in Falconwood before.. Visited today. The food was great and reasonable priced. The manager was very helpful. The only criticism I have is that we were not told about the salad bar. That you cannot help yourself. When food was ordered the waitress did not tell us, nor did the managers when we enquired about ordering food. Whilst we were at the salad bar a member of staff came over and said the we cannot help ourselves to the salad bar. She was talking quite loudly. This upset my daughter as she felt she had done something wrong. The only thing I would suggest is that when customer are greeted at the front of house that they are made aware about the salad bar or there is clear signage to inform customer on the precautions for the salad bar."

"As a frequent visitor here we booked a table here last night to bring our daughter and grandchildren out for a couple of hours, firstly we wasn’t given the high chair we asked for but we overlooked that we ordered food and drink by our server a young lad pretty cheerful but looked over worked , starters arrived which was to put it one way was well done but we ate them none the less, the kids meals arrived as he offered them to us he was using a tea towel I took the plates and they were so hot, god knows what would have happened to the kids hands if they touched them, so they had to wait for the plates to cool down before eating after what seemed an age our mains arrived my daughter said right away that my burger looked well done and dry, she was spot on It did take around 15 minutes to get our servers attention as he was running around getting to keep his tables happy, I don’t for one minute think he was to blame for any of it, by the time he did come a just told him to take it off the bill as it sort of turned me off, the table next to us had a bit of fish and chips which he returned for being over cooked I don’t know if it was overly busy or a new chef but these things shouldn’t happen and the toilets where the bins are overflowing with paper isn’t good either,it’s really needs to be looked at whether it’s low staff numbers or people who shouldn’t be in the kitchen"

"We had a fun girls' night out for dinner and a movie. Our waitress was fantastic—very cheerful and clearly passionate about her job. The menu offered some great options, and the food was delicious. "I myself and two friends went there to feed. the waitress was fantastic, very efficient and friendly, and I have no complaints in this area. the starters we ordered were not available as we are the main courses. this has really distracted from all the experience when they have made that they think what they will eat and they are preparing to just say that it is not available, not even, but twice! not only that, but the FULL rack of ripening looked as if they were coming from a tiny ferkel, not as I remember! this was served with a teespoon coleslaw (I don't want) and seven chips. all in all a very disappointing experience."

"When we entered Harvester, we had to wait several minutes at the bar before we could order drinks. We requested a table for three by the window, which we were given. Although our food took a while to arrive, I found my meal—a plate of dry pasta with three small strips of chicken—not appetizing. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to send it back. "They have just allowed dogs in so we can now use this fabulous restaurant. the staff couldn’t be more friendly and although it was busy , the tail end of a busy weekend, they didn’t make us feel any less welcome than the first customer . our waitress Zoe was particularly kind ! 10/10"
