"This is a new addition to the menu from the Greene King chain. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. There’s a good selection of meats available, although it’s not a carvery. I tried the stuffed chicken breast, which was a generous portion, and I also enjoyed the selection of beautifully prepared vegetables and gluten-free Yorkshire pudding. I felt great after my meal and would definitely be happy to return."

"Spent a few nights in this pub. The food and atmosphere are good and most of the staff are very friendly. Was a little surprised that the more customers who come for dinner the more upset the staff get, but apparently this is normal in the UK in pub chains (in Italy restaurant are owners are happy to welcome as many customers they can). Went in last night just for drinks, I was asked: 'how many are there of you as we are short staffed to serve drinks '. There were 2 of us and 4 staff behind the bar. Was very keen to tell us that they were closing at 22 (it was 19.30). Never felt so unwelcome in a pub before."

"Travelling home from South Wales My Fiancé an I chose Monmouth as a good halfway point to eat. An internet search provided Mokos as a recommended place to eat so we booked a table. When we arrived we were advised that there was a staff...shortage that evening however that wasn't reflected in either the service or food we received. From the moment we were seated the table service was friendly and attentive whilst the food ordered arrived in a timely manner. The food itself was excellent...authentic, spicy and simply delicious. I enjoyed the Paella and my Fiancé loved the vegetarian burritos. I thoroughly recommend Mokos for anyone with a taste for Mexican Mediterranean cuisine."

"Popped in because the Botolph was closed and had a pleasant surprise. We don't trust places that offer two meals for £8.99 usually but we initially just went for a drink. Plus, it was Mother's Day so we assumed there would be no tables available. Immediately, the lady behind the bar was warm friendly, recommending a particular Gin for my wife and my Abbott's was perfect. After smelling the lovely roasts coming out of the kitchen, we decided to ask the restaurant lady if there was a table and she said she'd try to organise something. Only 5 minutes later we were shown to a table. Kylie was great as our waitress, she had a bubbly, confident air and left us to choose. When we ordered, my wife had been tempted by the lovely aroma of the roast and I chose to treat myself to a fillet steak. I was wary because it wasn't likely that many fillets were sold so I asked for rare as I expected it to be overcooked and love a juicy steak. We were again very pleasantly surprised by the speed with which we were served and the colossal size of the plateful of delicious roast dinner...my wife even left some and that NEVER happens! My whole plateful looked lovely as I'd decided on ALL the extras, calamari was tasty and not chewy, prawn scampi were piping hot and succulent the steak was cooked to perfection...ALAS the cut was more like a braising than fillet steak and was interminably chewy. Such a sad thing to happen because it just shows the penny pinching meat buyers ruined it for the chef and the customer. Can't praise the staff more, especially young Kylie, but their management let them down BIG STYLE and, even though we will definitely go again I will never eat the steaks... HOWEVER, the shredded beef ends are TO DIE FOR!"

"Ribeye steak was absolutely gorgeous had mac'n'cheese and creamy leeks and bacon. Couldnt fault the main course. For dessert the menu said it was: a warm waffle with chocolate ice cream and sauce, this was not the best because the Waffle was very hard, it was more like a waffle pastry case with vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate sauce , with a shard of dark chocolate (didn't like this at all). It also was a sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, so certainly not the best, and I wouldn't order this again. Also the restaurant was cold"

"This is a fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, and the cocktails are top-notch. I highly recommend it! For those following a vegetarian diet, they offer a tasty vegan bean chili and other vegetable options. We started with nachos, which we shared, and added pulled pork on the side for the meat lovers. "I visited this restaurant for the first time with my family for my Birthday. I love Mexican food as it is my favourite cusine and have heard a lot of very good reviews about this place from friends and family. I was extremely pleased. The food was top notch and PROPER Authentic Mexican flavours. The service was even better. We were served by the actual owner of the restaurant who was on his own as all his staff were off due to the weather ! He did not go a second without a friendly and welcoming smile on his face and seemed genuinely happy to be serving everyone. The service was also very quick regardless of the situation. I will definitely be visiting again and again! Customer service for me is very important and I must say, this was one of the best I've received. I would recommend all to visit this restaurant."

"This pub is directly opposite Cannock chase but they only have a small area you can sit eat if you have a dog. Just managed to get a seat ordered Sunday lunch which was good value. Very hard to eat as the table is designed for stools way to high to eat from. Dog owners were waiting for tables, not really a dog friendly pub if you can’t sit on normal chairs enjoy a meal. "Couldn’t fault the food, amazing and good value for money. Unfortunately the service was poor and although I have been here many times, I will not be returning again. Following a very unclear offer on the website, an attempt of discussion around this led to a hostile and sarcastic response from the waiter. In addition one of the starters had been missed, food was quick but drinks took a while to arrive, and when bringing the receipt over after paying the bill I had to ask where my change was as they had assumed to keep this worth £5. "We had a weekend break in Devon and the place we stayed recommended Jingles as their favourite take away.. Well we can see why!!! The food was absolutely amazing, we had it delivered and the driver was so lovely and the food was just so lovely. It was perfectly hot when it arrived and I honestly can’t say anything else about it other than it was AMAZING!!! It was probably the best part of our holiday so thank you jingles for a delicious meal and the onion rings!!! AMAZING!! Vegetarian options: We are both vegetarians and we have a vegetarian chimichanga, a side of those amazing onion rings and some fries. Just lovely!!"

"small selection and the usual ie curry, burger chili. ordered two netzens and a starter that all come simultaneously. partner jacke kartoffel came 10 minutes before my starter the flower wing (they were ok, but a brake product) I ordered a burger and introduced 25 minutes after the jacket that btw was already cold. this pub is really not suitable for vegan foods that they do a flourishing business of stacking it high and selling it cheap meat and everything else they fall apart. if they want a coffee, it is from a pre-programmed machine so something apart from latte, cappuccino etc., then the computer says no. my burger came with chips and a side salad. beside salad was a 1/2 tomato and the chips were boiled in bad oil and dry as the hell. updated by previous review on 2022-05-25"

"staff were lovely but visibly overwhelmed. only one staff member on in the evening, she looked stressed and noted that she didn’t get a break. surely even during the week there should be multiple staff members on? owners do not seem to care about the staff at all. i have seen the owners sitting at the bar eating and drinking while staff are rushing about, offering no help. thoroughly disappointed, despite excellent service this evening. "My family and I went to this restaurant on Christmas Day for dinner, paying £50 per person. The roast turkey was overcooked, the vegetables were undercooked, and the portion sizes were disappointing. The pigs in blankets were too salty and there was not enough gravy to go around. The desserts were also disappointing, except for the vanilla ice cream sundae. We left the restaurant feeling hungry and dissatisfied after only 1 hour and 20 minutes. However, the staff were friendly and resolved a mix-up with our orders quickly. Overall, I would not recommend having Christmas dinner here, but I might consider returning for cheap cocktails in the future."

"This is the first time here in three years and wished we had gone elsewhere. We found a table and decided what we wanted to drink, I asked for a bottle of French red and was given a bottle of house red, I asked if...there was a different wine available and was told that’s all there was, even though I could actually see a bottle of Bordeaux unopened behind the bar. I think this guy was a manager. He was totally uninterested and made me feel like I was an inconvenience being there. We chose food and went to order I pronounced the espetada wrong and the young bartender seemed to take delight in pointing this out to me. I chose gammon. The espetada was ok but the peas on both dishes had been cooked that long they were loosing their green colour. My gammon was burnt around the edges and the eggs were not fully cooked. No one came to see if the food was acceptable so we just ate what we were able too and left. This will be the final time we go here, it used to be such a welcoming venue to have a meal on our travel through the area. Avoid and go somewhere else, somewhere that actually wants your custom."

"Will start by saying how hospitable the staff were and how good it was to offer a cheesecake as we had a group birthday. Overall however I’d say the food was only okay and not really authentic. Considering it is a Mexican restaurant, I requested my food to be very spicy so was expecting that and I asked for only a little sour cream on the food. So I was a little disappointed when receiving my food that it tasted rather under seasoned and I didn’t really taste any spice at all, the salsa although requested hot tasted like a mild one. The food had what I’d say is excessive sour cream on top which made eating the burrito particularly more difficult. Considering prior to the meal also I saw someone bringing a tub of what looked like the cooked rice I had I wasn’t surprised to find that felt very dry and bland. Despite quite a few flaws there were good points such as the cocktails we tried, wedges, guac and meatballs. As mentioned despite the food being under seasoned and not spicy it was still cooked properly in the taco and burrito. Overall I’d say there are better restaurant options in the area for the price but this place is somewhere which is maybe worth a try for someone if you don’t mind that the food is more of an imitation of Mexican food. Mainly due to the atmosphere and staff friendliness/ hospitality. Service: Dine in Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"Service was slow but once we ordered the food was soon brought to the table amazing food really enjoyed it .then I needed to go to the ladies which were disgusting the seats didn't fit right so couldn't sit the toilet still had the blue stuff sprayed in and the toilet brush had that much dust on it it hadn't been used for twelve month or more after ask to speak to the manager he was very reluctant to come and see us and as we were leaving w I spoke to him he was duty manager for the evening and I have never met such a rude person in my life while covid has been going on and the state of his toilets so bad he wasn't bothered at all he should be ashamed off the state of the loos it makes me wonder what the rest of the restaurant behind the scenes is like not going there ever again"
