"I was looking for a lunch venue for friends that were coming to Eastbourne for the day, I looked online for somewhere that would suit one vegetarian one gluten free and one who for medical reasons needed to choose from the children's menu. The Beachy Head menu looked perfect, I also asked for a window table. When we arrived we were given paper menus that were nothing like the online versions, and no window table. On querying the difference in menu choices we were told head office put the online menu on and It wasn't available here! What is the point of doing my research only to find it wasn't a true representation of what was on offer? I can't let this go unanswered, it wasn't me (a local) who approached the bar it was one of my guests, I didn't see the online menu she showed you but I can confirm that the menu I was looking at online when I made the booking was from the Beachy Head website which looked perfect with the choices, but was nothing like the paper menus we were handed on arrival. The children's menu that was online didn't appear at all, which was a specific requirement when I drove to the venue in person and booked it. Also I don't know who you are referring to in your reply because we were a party of three not five, booked weeks in advance. I have looked at the cuckmere Inn website and as part of vintage Inns their menu is identical, so I can see what you mean when you told my guest it is put on by Head office. I was disappointed on the day with the menu, especially after extensive research beforehand, but the venue itself was beautiful as a local I know it well, and the staff were very friendly, it has been a valuable lesson in double checking before booking."

A great place to stop for food and drink after walking from Birling Gap. A good selection of veggie options, served by Jan, with not too long to wait. Hope to be back soon.

Picturesque location surroundings by the sea., with lot of climbing steep hills slopes a lighthouse to see! A chaplain is at hand to comfort dissuade the weak hearted from jumping off the cliff tops!

A saviour when there's nothing else around after a long walk or wait for the bus! Restaurant looks beautiful, fresh flowers, candles. Didn't have any food, just a coffee. There are lovely views of the countryside. Very clean

Disappointed with the menu, no gammon and no Eton mess! The starter, prawn cocktail, was tasteless. The main, Pan roasted lamb was good but only broccoli and potatoes as veg. Expensive for what you got. Didn't bother with dessert as no Eton mess!

I was so excited about this place, and although it was nice to get away from the cold winds, this place set a downer on the day. first, the “nail” of the vegan options that I have read elsewhere is not true. I would hardly come two salads “much” plus salate!? they had dessert only a vegan and I am not joking when I say it came as a slitter not bigger than my thumb (a complete sweat when it cost the same as the apple cakes of my man who was massiv.) the place was also ice cold and the staff completely uninterested.

When we arrived at our alloted time we were told the table we were supposed to have wasn't available so had to wait for another table. The menu has changed and not for the better, it's expensive and the quality wasn't fantastic. My child had limited choices on his menu and they gave him an activity sheet with no pencils!!! The pizza he ordered didn't come with sides, had to order these extra and the pizza was greasy. Our fish n chips weren't worth over £15.00 had better at the local chippy!!! Disappointed as it was for husbands birthday and we have always liked going there but since the changes won't be returning. Too far to come and the food wasn't worth the effort.
