"Certainly, here’s your feedback transformed into a review: My wife and I are regular patrons of this establishment, drawn by its prime location, beautiful garden, attentive staff, and exceptional roast dinners. However, our recent experience left me with mixed feelings. We visited for lunch two weeks ago and were delighted to find chicken wings on the menu, complete with a variety of sauces. As a self-proclaimed hot sauce enthusiast, I couldn’t resist. I must say, those wings were outstanding, with a delicious hot sauce that hit the spot. Our anticipation was high when we saw the “bottomless wings” offer, and we eagerly booked a table for today (25.10.23). I had been looking forward to this all day. The service started off on a positive note with a friendly and engaging barmaid who shared in my excitement for the wings. However, the disappointment came when the wings were served. They were simply not up to par with my previous visit. These were labeled as ‘premium wings,’ but they were heavily breaded and deep-fried, and the hot sauce lacked the same magic. I want to make it clear that I’m not writing this to be overly critical; I just wanted to express my honest disappointment. To prevent others from experiencing the same letdown, I intend to share my thoughts through various review platforms. I believe in transparency and hope this feedback will help improve the overall experience. In summary, a once delightful visit was marred by inconsistent quality. I trust the establishment can return to its former glory. And after writing a kind email, the rudeness of the manager!"

"Service was poor! Food was great, albeit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes were fantastic. Unfortunately the kitchen is severely let down by the front of house staff. This may be because we were seated in a separate room to the rear since other people mention the staff being very attentive. Upon arriving we were sat and given menus, when asked what drinks we would like, i asked what ales were on tap, the response was 'Lots ' followed by a blank stare, so i went to the bar to see for myself. There were 3 ales, surely not too many to remember! We also asked for 2 glasses of merlot, a couple of minutes later i was advised they don 't sell merlot by the glass, but they have Malbec instead, that 's fine. Another 5 minutes pass before they then tell me they don 't have any Malbec, I was starting to get bored by this point so just asked a bottle of the merlot, and was instead given a bottle of Malbec! After returning to the table with our drinks, our food orders were then taken, and no issues here at all, food was brilliant, nice rare beef, succulent porchetta with crispy crackling, praise all round from our table. Unfortunately no one came to check how the food was so we didn 't have an opportunity to ask for some table water, so another trip to the bar to ask. Politely mentioned to the manger that it would have been good to not have to come and ask, to which he was very grateful to be told this, as apparently so may people just leave bad reviews instead, but then he still didn 't bring us any water!! 20 minutes after finishing the meal there was no sign of any staff again, so i went to the bar to ask for the bill, this was bought out fairly promptly. but after another 10-15 minutes it was clear there was card machine coming, so yet another trip the bar to pay. The staff are all very young and green, which is no problem if they a good manager to lead and train them, unfortunately this is sorely missing, instead he just flaps around. I expect a newly opened venue to have some teething issues, but they have been open for 4 months, so the service really should be up to speed by now Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3"

"We booked and attended during COVID times so please bear that in mind when reading. The wifi didn 't work and there was nothing to say that they knew of the problem, so spent ages (add did many others because mobile reception is poor in the area) trying to log in to order food and check in with the COVID app before asking and finding it would just say 'connecting please wait '. We ordered and then waited 90 minutes for the food. Shortly after ordering a burger we were told that they had run out of all burgers. A short time later another table had the same response but then were told that they had one left. The food was OK but certainly not up to the prices quoted. The soup was luke warm and in desperate need of seasoning. Mac and cheese tasted like it had come from a tin. It possibly hadn 't but that was the impression. The pork curry tasted like pork in blitzed tinned tomatoes with some onion and pepper to give some spice. Again, needed seasoning. Just nothing special. They did provide (unrequested) some free bread and dipping oils whilst we were waiting. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The Deverill beer, a local ale was excellent and tasted well conditioned. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The pub was scrupulously clean with good COVID compliance. We would go back to give them a second chance these are difficult times especially for the hospitality trade."
