"This is a hidden gem! Gorgeous fine dining set up in a relaxed atmosphere, rural location so best to take a cab if, like us, you want to sample more than one of the extensive wines on the list! They do have parking too. The biodynamic Gruner we had was amazing! The service was perfect, I didn’t catch the name of the gentlemen who looked after us (on Thursday 8 July in the evening) but he made our evening pretty special, talking us through wines (and offering tastings) and generally being attentive throughout. The dining experience was relaxed just how we like it! We ordered a few small plates, then a few more, followed by the most delicious cheese board and a little extra sweet walnut treat was presented to mark our anniversary very sweet! Overall good value for excellent modern British and European food and service, we will be back!"

"We are so lucky to have such a fantastic Indian restaurant in our village. Had a take out (due to covid) to celebrate my birthday. Jay the team went that extra mile -as always- by opening up especially for me at lunchtime on a Sunday. Delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by my Mum Husband too. When restaurants are allowed to open again it is well worth visiting for a sit down too."

"One of the nicest pubs I have been to. We are two families, with a kid each year old boys) and we walked from Bodiam, where we are camping, to Salehurst, having been told the Halt was a good pub to visit. It certainly...is. Lovely, welcoming and attentive and chatty staff, a lovely beer garden, very nice local ales, a good selection of lager and very nice food. The kids played table tennis most of the time and then when they eat their plaice and chips, not a thing was left on their plated. The pub does not have a specific kids menu, but will make a kids version of every menu choice there is. The staff were very accomodating in this respect and also were as happy to chat to the kids as they were to the adults. We all left for the long walk back to Bodiam declaring it was our New Favourite Pub. Thank you The Salehurst Halt, for giving us a lovely couple of hours of pubbage' :"

"We started by exploring the beautiful gardens, which provided me with a lot of inspiration for my own garden. The paths are flat, making it accessible for my disabled mother to visit. The staff were all very friendly, especially the young man in the stunning orange garden filled with sunflowers, marigolds, and tagetes. He shared some helpful tips about gardening supplies. The café was affordable, and the cream tea we had was delicious. We couldn't resist trying the homemade sausage rolls as well! Of course, we ended up making a few plant purchases—I picked up some seeds and daffodil bulbs. I'm really looking forward to bringing my mother back because I know she'll love it there. On our second visit today, I managed to find some bright yellow chrysanthemums for the cemetery, which had just arrived. They were a fantastic price at £5.99 for a large plant. I also picked up some birthday cards, which were humorously brilliant!"

"I found Weald Smokery products being sold at Flint Oak, Westerham an establishment of similar quality!I wanted something tasty for tea and bought the Weald Smokery's Smoked Trout Pate! Well, what a delightful surprise! It was lovely delicious, subtly flavourful so that individual ingredients can be savoured not overpowered with salt! I haven't tasted such a fish pate since the days when I did lots of dinner parties, and made pate myself.I also couldn't resist their Smoked Ham not something I buy regularly, but it looked so delicious. And this was confirmed when eaten. NOT a flavour one finds in any other shops I know; maybe with the exception of local Farmer's Markets only!So thank you Weald Smokery for your expertise in producing such delightful products to tantalize our tastebuds and make us want more.I'm unable to complete info about the restaurant as I purchased Weald Smokery products from another superb shop."
