"This was our first time here since it re opened (other than having a takeaway . They didn 't have our table booking for some reason, but managed to accommodate the 6 of us. The food was great overall, but some of the sides were not available, such as the potato dauphinoise. It did take the staff a good while to advise of this, but alternatives were available. I would say the staff were very friendly but there were a few things which were a bit 'off ' no cooler/ice bucket offered when we ordered prosecco. Would have expected a member of staff to fill the glasses initially too? We had to ask for a cooler. The main dishes were served a bit sporadically, but they all arrived within 5 minutes of each other. We loved the desserts! Overall, would recommend. The portions were very generous. In fairness, would give a rating of 3 1/2 out of 5. We did have a laugh and a good night :"

Wasn't impressed what we went for was a three course carvery what we got was prawn cocktail take it or leave it. Only one fish eater in the company would be me. Carvery was undercooked beef, still tough, roast pork tough and chicken/turkey (undecided) tough. The aray of vegetables was the only saving grace, though the cranberry sauce was spartan At £7.50 for the prawn cocktail, it would have been nice with a slice of lemon and some brown bread and butter Drinks were OK, but at a premium price. A totally forgettable experience one that will not be repeated

We had a wonderful experience at Cammies. We went in for lunch on a weekday, it was quiet and we received prompt and friendly service. The location is quite remote but the surrounding views are beautiful. We had nasi goreng and laksa both were beautifully presented, full of flavour, and had a generous amount of seafood. We were very impressed with the menu which included lots of fusion South Asian seafood dishes (as well as local classics like Cullen skink) a breath of fresh air, and truly something new in the local dining scene. Punya, who served us, took the time to talk to us about the food and to explain about the different types of Sri Lankan teas available (and we ended up buying some...

"We were pleased to get a last minute booking for lunch on a Saturday and on arrival were happy with their covid measures. A nice bright restuarant and we had a lovely view but that was luck as only 1 great window.Went for the lunch menu which is good value but noted for the a la carte still only 3 mains and a special which felt a little limiting perhaps just a consequence o the pandemic.Drinks arrived promptly with some bread which was a little dry.Staters we had a ham hock terrine (came with a pickled onion despite me saying did not want onions with main and not being listed) however it was pleasant and enjoyed the prune giving sweetness egg yolk dots did not offer much however. Hubby had gravalax with beetroot which was pleasant enough. For mains hubby had sea bass which was perfectly cooked but my rolled pork shoulder was a little disappointing (this time served with a charred spring onion despite the no onion request). It was a bit chewy and not enough of the fat either cooked off or removed. The polenta lacked the advertised parmesan flavour but was very crispy and the confit carrot tasty.Desserts we had the rice pudding which was yummy with cinnamon and apple but whilst the banana cake was tasty and moist it was fridge cold when warm would have been so much better. The chocolate sorbet served on the side was nice enough but not as expected as it was light suggesting perhaps a milk or drinking chocolate when I expected something darker anyway for those who remember tasted a bit like a mini milk lolly!Fudge with coffee seemed wrong in Scotalnd we prefer tablet but there you go. Last gripe was £4.20 for a double espresso seemed steep compared to other charges.Overall it was ok but little tweaks could make significant difference. Now one thing they can do nothing about but worth knowing and please take care is how uneven the steps were. We were lucky it was a dry day and I'm only 48 but they really felt worrying."
