"We booked at House because it was convenient after seeing Follies at the Olivier. The service was good; courteous and speedy. The food was disappointing and overpriced. There were some very unpleasant foams, tasteless and ill matched combinations ie cold unmarinated mackeral drowned in an unspecified foam. bread and butter pudding does not sit well well with grapefruit. Cooking is far too complicated and simply does not work."

Very nice food, good value. Only grumble, our table was too close to others and the conversation at the next table was most distracting.

the four of us had a nice relaxing dinner between shows. it was the perfect choice to see my brilliant friend, parts 1 and 2 on the same day.

The service was very good but the food not as usual. The starter that my cousin ordered was very odd... My soup was good and fish as well. The steak of my cousin a bit tough.

The restaurant has a good ambience although it was quiet when we arrived at 5.30pm; it was very busy when we left at 7pm. Good menu choice and decent sized good quality portions. Friendly unintrusive service. View menu

we enjoyed a meal in the house before we went to the national theatre. we had not realized that our show started at 7 but the staff was great to get our food quickly and make sure that we did not too late for the curtain up.

eating in house on the south bank is from strength to strength. imaginative dishes, nicely served and delicious to eat. I had the buratta with aubergine to start followed by the cadjau - so good. great service and finished in the time to see the game, hansard.

We went to House before going to the Lyttleton Theatre and had an excellent meal. The choices are varied and interesting, and I really enjoyed my lamb T-bone main course. The service is alwasy spot on and I highly recommend this venue if you are at the National Theatre. View menu

It was a quiet evening when we went. Food was nice. I had the crumbed bream which was tasty and big portion. My friend had the mullet which seemed much smaller portion. The bread was nice. Not particularly impressed with desserts. Service was OK. Did have to wave a bit to get attention at times.

we went to the house at the national theatre before we wanted to see harold and the young. as always, the service was excellent so that we were done well on time without feeling hurried. I had the burrata that was heavenly, followed by the fish, again very good. the pre-theater menu is a good value.
