"I visited the restaurant without a reservation and was warmly welcomed. However, I found the menu card difficult to read and had to use my flashlight! The food was excellent. I opted for the three-course fixed menu. The starter was fantastic—dipped salmon and shrimp in a light lemon cream sauce that was very refreshing and flavorful. For the main course, I had salmon with a crispy crust, accompanied by a delightful sauce and the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever tasted. Unfortunately, I had no room for dessert. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was outstanding, especially considering there were only two staff members on duty. Well done! I would definitely return and recommend it to others."

came yesterday to treacherous wood and felt hungry after that stumbled over this little pub glad we went into friendly dame behind the bar and eating was nice, we will definitely be back.

Had the most amazing steak and ale pie at this place. The pastry was perfect and the steak lean, served with lots of home made gravy. My husband also said his burger was the best he’d had in a long while. Will definitely return on our next trip back to the area.

Just had Sunday lunch here with my family. We couldn’t fault a thing. All the staff were pleasant and welcoming and the food was hot and plentiful. It’s a very popular pub and busy but it didn’t make us feel rushed or uncomfortable. We’ll definitely book to come again.

Delicious we had the ribeye steak and kitchen ribs. Steak was cooked well, juicy, flavoursome. Ribs were fall off the bone. Finished with tiramisu cheesecake and ice cream, also tasty. Friendly and efficient service. Cosy atmosphere. Reasonable price. Would visit again when in the area! View menu

One of the best ribs I've ever had in UK, fall off the bone ribs and drenched in delicious rum sauce, with chonky chips with a fluffy centre. Steak was perfectly cooked with tons of flavour, paired beautifully with a peppercorn sauce. Service was super friendly and well timed, great people all around!

Wonderful village pub serving delicious food and drink. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to make my visit a hugely pleasurable one. Food portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend a visit whether you live in the area or are just visiting.
