"Enjoyed Sunday Lunch here today 5.11.23 /12:00 in this classic pub. As noted by others, it has a cosy feel, which we enjoyed, as compared to ultra modern or fake classic. The pub is divided into 2 areas: dogs allowed and no dogs . We were in the dogs allowed area and enjoyed seeing the various dogs we used to have one . We had reserved a table the day before by telephone friendly lady! and I would highly recommend anyone else to do so, as virtually all the tables had Reserved signs on them This, of course, may only be the case on Sundays . Some even had 2 reservations as ours 12:00 and 15:00 . And obviously, you may prefer to sit in the no dogs part of the pub and book accordingly. Food was in generous portions and very good value for money. We 2 persons chose the Beef Roast and the Pork Roast £15 each We had one generous portion of Sticky Toffee Pudding with sauce and ice cream £6 and a tea to follow. Toilets were very clean Finally a pub, where you can really smell the disinfectant! Friendly staff the manageress is obviously a friend of dogs There were water bowls and a jar of doggy treats on the mantelpiece. She said hello to all the dogs and Yes, she does also say hello to the guests ; Regretably, I read a couple of negative reviews on Google about a drunken manager, by a I think couple staying overnight. Is there someone else in the hotel? Or what happened? We personally, were fully satisfied with our meal and have already recommended the pub to friends family for Sunday Lunches! It was also nice to see that the dogs were extremely well behaved, which, as I think we all know, is down to their owners."

We were aggressively approached by the “new management” of the masons arms who accused a member of our group of taking drugs. This was an entirely false accusation and the “manager” was clearly drunk which and made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. Avoid this pub at all costs!!! Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 1

"I was visiting the area a few month ago when upon leaving I saw this Keelman Farm Shop and thought I need a look in there and I was so impressed by the Farm Shop I decided to buy some biscuits upon leaving I spotted some hampers by the door and thought they would make a beautiful present for my best friends mother, Well I decided to make a call and spoke a beautiful lady named Sue and asked if they had any in for when I could come back seeing how I live in South Shields,I said I would return on Thursday 16th November about 3.30pm, Sue said that would be no problem and they were made up for me on the day this is expentional service. This far the best Farm Shop I have seen, everything I saw was immaculately displayed, the fresh food was also the same, they have flowers which is delivered on a daily basis, everything is locally sourced, it boats a delicatessen with a wide range of cheeses and home cooks pies and everything in between hat can satisfy even the most awkward pallet. The wines are vast and varied, they also boast a restaurant which serves a wide range of good honest food. I would to take this time to thank Hayle with all my heart in getting permission for me to take pics for my review (love you for this Ms Haley) To the Owners Thank you for a memorable visit and your great staff with a brilliant eye for detail, do you and Keelman FarmShop justice."

"I had heard much about this place, so I was rather excited to try. Nice village. Nice building. Nice decor. That is where it ends. 13 of us diners club) arrived on time with pre-orders. So, they should have got it right. Food was staggered and slow. My king prawn starter was, I have to say, delicious, but tiny, for £11:00 I expected more. My friend who writes cook books btw) said it was the first time she had ever had to put salt on an Onion Bhaji. Bland, tasteless, burnt. Ripples of similar disappointment across the table. My main was simply average. Again, small portions. No knives and forks to eat with. We had to ask. As we did for drinks. And napkins. And sauces. Staff had to be asked to take away empty glasses and bowls that were filling the table. Again, food was staggered, with a couple waiting almost 15 mins longer for food, despite pre-orders. My chicken was tough and tasteless. Another friend had lamb, which he said “took some chewing”. Now the disappointment. Despite my main being over £20.00, I was charged £3.50 for a tiny dry chapati to accompany. To add insult to injury, I had a pint of soda water , from the pump not bottled), in fact I had 2. For which I was charged £8:00. For 2 glasses of water!!! I queried this. The response I got was to simply have the card machine pushed in my face with “ Please pay now”. I say that it was 2 glasses of water, basically. To which I got “ please pay now” with the card machine almost touching my nose. My fellow guests queried this. To which the response was …. Nothing. So, a small starter, a small and rather bland, luke warm, basic curry with a dry chapati and 2 glasses of water cost me £43.00. Be prepared for average food. Rude staff and being fleeced. I eat out 2-3 times per week. I am always happy to buy and enjoy whatever I fancy. I always tip. But not this time. Disappointed to say the least. I won’t be returning, as will a few of my friends who were equally as disappointed. I would avoid this place. There are many beautiful eating places all around this area. This is not one of them."
