"The meat in my chunky steak pie was indeed chunky but a bit too firm—not tough, just not tender. It seemed more likely that the wrong cut of meat was used rather than it being poorly cooked. For dessert, I had the caramel apple pie, which I shared with another member of my party. His was served hot, while mine was cold. I ordered mine with cream, but when it arrived, the cream had bubbles in it and was lukewarm. It seemed that my pie was microwaved first and then topped with cream, which caused it to cool down while the cream warmed up. As a result, the bottom pastry became soggy, and the rest of it didn’t have much crispness to begin with. I understand that times are tough and that pubs like this may not be able to make everything from scratch, but there are three other pubs nearby, and unfortunately, this one does nothing to distinguish itself from the others when it comes to food. Overall, it's a nice place for a quiet drink, but I won’t return for the food. The only silver lining was the price; we spent £80 for two rounds of drinks (one pint, one coke, and two halves per round), four main dishes, and two desserts. I suppose you get what you pay for."

We visited at the weekend as we were staying at a campsite close by. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and it is a lovely old style pub. As a family of 4 we had 2 adult meals and 2 childrens meals. The food was lovely and generously portioned and reasonably priced. Definitely would recommend.

I had a wonderful dining experience here this week. The service was incredibly attentive, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our meal orders. I highly recommend the Sunday roast! I tried three different meals during my visits, and each one was not only generous in portion sizes but also delicious. This pub is also very dog-friendly. I strongly recommend it for both food and drinks, thanks to the fantastic staff!
