"This family run hotel is a must for anyone visiting the area and especially if you bring your four legged friend. From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave , there is nothing that is too much trouble. Our room was so comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The food gives you warmth and a hug of happiness! Breakfast is one of the best I’ve had made with the freshest ingredients. My only problem was not staying long enough!!! This truly is a gem in the beauty that is the Wye valley. The old court truely is the place you tell your friends you will return to .."

"This review is written in April 2021 just as England was coming out of it's third lock down.My wife and I were staying in Llangrove for a week. We visited on the Sunday lunchtime and had the roast lunch. Portions were plentiful,service was friendly and we stayed for a couple of drinks as well. At the time of our visit, covid regulations meant we had to sit outside to eat and drink, we were lucky with the weather and this was not a problem. We returned again on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings for a few drinks but although there was a short food menu, we did not eat. Sitting outside once again was fine but once the sun goesover the pub, it was a bit chilly, but this was the middle of April.All in all we were glad we used the Royal, and would recommend it to anyone staying in the village."

"First and last meal we had at the Hostelrie. The food was subpar and absolutely not worth the price, meat was extremely fatty and the rest of the food was bland. The worst thing about the Hostelrie is the staff. I’ve never come across such rude and passive aggressive people. The manager, who I assume to be Katherine- the very passive aggressive woman responding to these honest reviews requires some lessons in decorum and basic manners. She is a very unpleasant and unprofessional woman. They served a tiny vegetable ‘platter’ for 4 people, therefore we politely requested another, the waitress responded ‘yes’ and walked away. We received the platter once we had finished the edible parts of our food so we no longer needed it. The waitresses and manager outright lied and claimed we were told there would be a wait on the vegetables and rudely stated we had to pay for it. Believe these reviews and give your money to restaurants that deserve it. There was also only one other table occupied at 3pm on a Sunday before Christmas- says it all really…"

"I adore The Potting Shed! It had been a while since my last visit, but I recently stopped by and was delighted to see the wonderful owners, Paul and Shelley, serving up a fantastic lunch. The food was excellent, and it was a pleasure to catch up with them both. I will definitely be returning soon. If you're in the area, be sure to check out The Potting Shed. Their service, food, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5! The price per person for lunch is typically £10-£20."

"Been twice before and was singing its praises. Took another couple there to experience it. Luckily for me the menu had not changed great I thought. I will have exactly what I had 2 weeks ago. Ordered whitebait again and so did my companion, tasted great but we must have shared a portion this time. Oh the special lamb with Lyonnaise potatoes still on looking forward to that. Service very slow had to ask when was the food coming, when it did turn up the potatoes where boiled and some lamb flakes had been pressed into a circular shaped ring. we were not late diners but it felt like I had the last of the bits). It tasted Ok but what a disappointment over the last visit. From my first visit on the desert menu the crepes are not crepes be warned. Numerouse great food outlets in and around Ross so I 'll be going to them next Friday."
