Exquisite dinner, perfect service The Espresso at the end of the evening was lousy, but the rest was perfect. But let’s start with the beginning: the amuse bouche, an elegant, tiny appetizer consisting of turnip mousse, graved salmon and red caviar was delicious and artistically displayed on a tiny little plate. The various soups fish soup and Hochzeitssuppe that were served as first course in the traditionally furnished and very cozy restaurant area were excellent. The entrees with relatively large portions of meat (for German standards, at least , for instance the veal ragout, the magret de canard or the porc and beef loins (the latter generously covered with fried onions were cooked to our entire satisfaction. The only miner were the vegetable sides, the Brussel sprouts and the steamed Savoy cabbage were marginal, the pumpkin slice was practically tasteless. Needless to say that the tables in the Hotel Adler are covered with snow white table clothes and that the food is served on fine bone china. A very professional sommelier serves wines from the wine list by the glass without the obligation to order the entire bottle. The service in general is extremely attentive, when it comes to refills, clearing the table and lifting the silver hoods from the plates or politely helping the clients into their coats. The desserts, variations of fruit sherbets for us that evening were of aromatic, fruity and intense taste. It’s nice to have such a classy restaurant in the area!"

"Lively traditional atmosphere with waitresses wearing traditional Dirndl. A good place for drinks, Stammtisch. Food average with inconsistent service. Long wait times for waitresses' reappearances. One order was made wrong, pork, instead of beef, causing another round of wait. Local recipes prepared in traditional, confusing way: no significant efforts to update noted. Spätzle made with round shaped Spätzle maker with high egg protein content, resulting in uniform firmer texture. Brown sauce unremarkable. Schnitzel prepared properly but not extraordinary, but still pleasant with moist meat inside. Breading not crunchty, but soft. Could be acceptable variation. Steak prepared properly (for the most part, medium ordered but more like medium-well delivered), tender, & flavorful. Asparagus in season: prepared well & with good hollandaise sauce (creamy), presentation of plate in general, spartan, but still cleanly presented on albeit sparse on warm/hot plate. Plate composition could be better to make presentation more elegant, modern, & cohesive. Dissert disappointing. Fruit salad with fruits not in season, cantaloupe, pineapple, kiwi, when strawberry is fully in season in the area. Fruit salad devoid of sweetness or juiciness with fruits harvested in other countries unripe. Parfait, unremarkable ice creams in confusing presentation. Lemon sorbet in champaign is beyond comprehension. Hard to eat, & flavors clashing & cancelling each other out. If this must be presented this way, sweeter dessert champagne may have complemented flavors better cohesively. Had to wait forever to pay & leave. Recommendations: can be a place to meet friends for drinks & quick bite (to quench hunger), but not a place that titillates one's culinary expectations."
