"Wintergarten is one of those special luxury restaurants where the look matches the taste of the food. Flooded with natural light during lunch and a nice cosy setting during dinner, the food, I have to say, is spot on in taste and flavors. I had the Wiener Schnitzel of veal seared in butter with small parsley potato which came with a generous portion of country house salad. The veal was soft and tender while the outer crust was nicely done. My partner had the Marensin chicken breast with poultry jus, sage and winter vegetables. It was also delicious and cooked perfectly that it was so tender. Additionally we had the lobster bisque which was quite different in that it wasn't the typical creamy version but was lighter and well balanced. My partner had the beef consommé and it was both light as well as flavorful. The vegetables were very finely diced and the two dumplings were a nice touch – the beef filling was simply delicious. We ended dinner with a Brenners Apple pancake. Lovingly presented with the top of the Apple pancake boasting a nice caramelization. By then, we really couldn't stomach any more than the post-dinner petit fours... Overall we were impressed with the food and the flavors were well balanced and made for a very enjoyable meal. We were lucky that night as two Michelin star Head Chef Paul Stradner was helming the kitchen while the famed Michelin starred Brenners Restaurant was closed for a month. The service was also impressive-staff were attentive, food came in quick time even though it was busy. This is a beautiful restaurant with beautiful dishes that you must try if you visit Baden Baden."

"our expectations were unfortunately not met. admittedly we were expecting a lot after we had seen a television report about the restaurant and its celebrities grill. but from the front; we were kindly received and led to the table. the place was nice and cozy. the ambiente was right. the tables for two people are quite small, which became a problem later. the appetizers (we had 1x jakobsmuschel and 1x straciatella burrata) were really very tasty what you can expect at the price but also. at the beginning, it has left something out of our sight. we had 2x rinderfilet with zitronenrisotto once medium and once medium rare. when served, it was not asked who to place at all. so it was served exactly exchanged. To this end, it must be said that medium was almost rare and medium rare. the piece of meat was still somewhat lonely on the teller. not a bit of decoration, no kirschtomate or similar and no special teller. the risotto just came in a bowl. that we have experienced in restaurants that have not even called half the price. Additionally there was some steak salt and a dip. because the table was so small, but this had no more space on this. so our cocktails that were not yet empty were taken back (for the well-picked 16€ each were called prouder price for a small, alcohol-free very acidic juice cocktail that was displaced by a huge ice cube). the meat itself (well from the black forest) had basically no bad quality. it was more tasty. the crust had too strong smoke aromas, not so our case. not really grill aromas, just kind of smokey. there we were actually in the well-known steakhouse chains mostly more tastefully, with even more moderate trips there. After we wanted to pay, we had to wait almost 20min until we got the bill. proud 200€. they were not worth it at the end of us. It was a pity that we should put 4€ for the parking ticket after this bill. does not necessarily have to be out of our sight, so it was probably the last visit in total."
