"We spent two nights earlier this month at the hotel for a wee break and to visit old haunts in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. All the staff, we interacted with, were extremely friendly and helpful across all roles. Special mention to the young waiting staff and their enthusiastic approach to their roles and the future of the hotel as it continues to develop under new ownership. We wish them well in their further education and future career paths. Jenny, the new owner, is extremely commited to her staff and the hotels future developments. The bedroom and some areas looked a bit tired but we understand that refurbishments are being undertaken soon. We had dinner on our second evening and found the menu and food excellent. We highly recommend residents or non residents book one meal at least. We plan to revisit in the future and look forward to seeing the changes that are made by Jenny and her dedicated staff. Good luck to you all. Tom Julia. Rooms: Comfortable, clean, but dated. The old style window frame was showing signs of dampness . Nearby activities: Anywhere in Royal Deeside is worth visiting, beautiful area. The hotel is well located for this. Food drinks: Very good Breakfast/Dinner menu choices. Food was excellent. Noteworthy details: Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel about to have extensive refurbishments which will make it an even more worthwhile place to book and stay. Lift unfortunately was out of order but due for repair the day we left."

"There were seven staff members on duty, but it seemed like one person was trying to handle everything instead of letting the others manage their own tasks. I also witnessed a confrontation between a customer, who had been waiting a long time for their takeout order, and this staff member. Rather than apologizing for the delay, the staff member was somewhat confrontational. While the food was tasty and the waitstaff were pleasant, the overall waiting time was simply too long."

"A cosy, special place to visit. Not only is the food delicious and the service and atmosphere inviting, the surrounding area and falls and stream are so beautiful. Just sitting having a coffee and looking outside on a grey wet day seeing the beauty, feeding the body, mind and soul. A huge favourite for us and so pleased we have discovered this little piece of heaven.
