"From the outside, this unassuming building doesn't seem like it is going to be a pleasant surprise. There are multiple restaurants in the Citadel of Blaye, some with wonderful views over the river but none can hold a candle to the food here! We were the first diners to arrive, but were promptly seated and brought the menu (both a set menu, and a la carte). There was not a huge choice, but this increased expectations a wider menu often compromises the quality of food. The service was attentive despite the outside part of the restaurant filling up quickly. The menu is well balanced, and there is something for every palate. The salads to start with were generous, but not just green leaves. The mains were perfectly cooked, with a nice choice of sides (the baked potato with creme fraiche is my recommendation). The desserts were also outstanding my tiramisu was the best I've ever had. To conclude/TL;DR: give this place a go you won't regret it!"
