"Situated on the outskirts of Couhe, this popular roadside restaurant offers tasty, good-value country cooking with reasonably priced wines. We've just visited for our 3rd New Year's Eve meal. The menu, priced at €45 was excellent value. 8 courses included a cocktail with delicious canapés, lobster, a trio of foie gras, prawns scallops, tournedos, biche (deer), a trou charentais (a sorbet with Marc), a good assiette gourmande (a dessert sampler) and a glass of champagne. The regular menus won't make a hole in your wallet. The restaurant has recently changed hands but, apart from a bit of a decor makeover, little has changed. Well worth a visit."
