"We had three nights here eating from the terroir menu and whilst the food was good it was nothing outstanding. The setting is absolutely beautiful and to sit outside before the meal with a lovely aperitif was very special. Sadly we were not made to feel special by the typically haughty and customer service averse local waiting staff. Everything was too much trouble for one particular waiter who from the very outset was particularly annoyed with us for arriving with a 20 month baby. The Manoir du Mathan (its sister hotel) had booked a table for 6 but we had a little one technically making 7. This was of particular annoyance to said waiter who proceeded to blame us and take umbrage even though it was his employer who had made the mistake. This set the tone for the three nights with us being shoved on a corner table in The Arcade for the final two nights out of the way of other guests and diners. Service was pitifully slow and several waiters rude and would, as I say earlier, not wax lyrical about food that, for the price , was nothing outstanding save for impeccable and lovely deserts."
