"Glorified Public School Dinner food hiding behind a beautiful scenic dining area. Server wasn 't too bothered about their job, kinda like it doesn 't matter what food they did and didn 't have in that day. Seemed very excited when leaving the table to tend an empty bar. Didn 't ask once if food was okay, if they had I 'd of mentioned the myriad of wrongs occurring upon the three plates in front of us. Ordered from evening menu, beef burger, chicken burger and garlic bread. The former two came with undercooked chips (as if the fryer was just turned on for our meal), pale onion rings, two dimensional tomato slices (two of per burger), two measly leafs of lettuce and no house sauce of any kind. I 've had tastier PVA glue than the coleslaw. My partners chips were akin to hash browns but undercooked. The beef burger had one thing going for it, there was Infact beef on it. The chicken burger my partner had was tasteless and fell apart. Garlic bread appeared to be some kind of muffin or cinnamon swirl that was re purpoused for our order. Aside it was a teeny tiny salad, which actually contained a highlight from my experience: red onion that actually tasted of onion/unlike the onion dense coleslaw. All in all, me and my partner left feeling like our local kebab shop would have left us more impressed. As we were leaving the server told us she didn 't mind that there was some issues with the card reader as it 'filled her time as she has nothing else to do '. It should be noted they were wearing their outside clothes and served us with the jacket on. Chef was seen at bar after meal, standing not doing much. The main concern for the staff appeared to be; what music was being played as they skipped through the world 's most disorganised playlist (no, no one wants to listen to loch lomond while they are eating). Speaking as a working chef, I feel my wife could cook a better meal with half the ingredients and equipment than this 'professional ' kitchen can. The opertunity to do better is overwhelming, however it will take a long time before you convince me to enter with an empty stomach again. Wheelchair accessibility: It 's not friendly for those that are handicapped in any way. Steep narrow stairs and difficult to navigate room space."

"The menu offered a fantastic selection, along with plenty of daily specials. For our starter, we opted for the pork belly with parsnip and piccalilli, and it was absolutely delicious! The pork was tender and packed with flavor. The combination of parsnip and piccalilli might sound unusual, but it worked wonderfully. For our main dishes, we chose the linguine with scallops, prawns, chili, and garlic. It was an incredible dish, featuring sweet, perfectly cooked scallops and an abundance of prawns. The sauce was delightful. I usually find pasta dishes a bit monotonous, but I didn't want this one to end. The photos really don’t do it justice! I added chili flakes because I'm a big fan of spice. For dessert, I had the special of bread and butter pudding with ice cream. It had a nice crispy top and a gooey center. My husband ordered the sticky toffee pudding, which was light and very tasty. We enjoyed it all with a bottle of Martin Codax Albariño wine. We loved it so much that we returned for lunch the following day and were fortunate to snag the last available table, while others were turned away. Hence, I emphasize the importance of booking in advance. We tried their pizzas as well—one with chorizo, sun-blushed tomatoes, and black olives, and the other with chicken, sweet peppers, rocket, and red onion. Both had fantastic flavors, and the crust was thin yet slightly doughy and light—just perfect. We also couldn’t resist the cakes on display, so we tried the coffee walnut cake and carrot cake. Both were delicious, but to be honest, the coffee cake was a bit dry, while the carrot cake was beautifully moist. The flavors in both were great. Lastly, their coffee was excellent; we ordered it black, and it was a fantastic cup. Once again, the service was remarkable. We absolutely loved our experience here and would definitely make a reservation again if we find ourselves in the Dornoch area. Thank you!"
