"The large, beer- battered cod and chips we had yesterday was average, the cod was well cooked which is important, but the chips were really over fried, I felt. I couldn’t eat the mushy peas as they tasted strange. We didn’t stop for a pudding, so not sure what they are like. There was a good selection however. I felt the seating area outside could have been better. The new artificial turf was practical for the landlords, I agree, but the benches were uncomfortable. I would concentrate on making the garden furniture more inviting, then customers would spend more time; which would result in the pub making a profit on more drinks etc So, the price? Very expensive for what we received, I felt. This pub/inn is in a delightful location, so full of character but lacking the positive vibe it is sadly being robbed of. Would we visit again? Yes. Parking: Like everywhere else volume is a problem on a beautiful, warm sunny day. We were lucky, we grabbed the last parking space at the front of the pub. I’m finding more camper vans are taking up valuable space lately."
