"We came based off the reviews for the food but were just as pleasantly surprised by the cocktails, Lauren and Tom (I hope I remember your names right! are both really lovely and welcoming and it's really reflected in the service they offer. The place has a really cool atmosphere and the food was soooo yummy. (Best nachos we have ever had . Would totally recommend this place for anyone visiting filey we're coming back next summer so will defo be paying you guys another visit! "We had our evening meal at Filey Curry House whilst we were staying in the area last week and we weren't disappointed. It was by far the best curry we have ever had (we normally Indian dine approx every 2 weeks). Service was outstanding even though new members of staff were being trained we were still made to feel very special. Thank you and we will be returning."

"Popadom starter was foretaste of delights to come. Food was good and generous proportions too. Nice atmosphere although tables are a little close together. Pleasantly surprised when the bill came,lower than I expected and if you're lucky you'll be served by the young Tom Cruise lookalike waiter!"

"Today, I made a brief visit to Filey and stopped by for a quick bite to eat, and I can confidently say it’s definitely worth trying. The curry sauce is hands down the best I’ve ever had—coming from someone who loves curry sauce, that's a big compliment, and I’m sure others would agree! The beautifully crispy batter complements the fish wonderfully, while the chips, with their slightly golden glaze and fluffy insides, provide a delightful surprise with their mouthwatering aroma. We also enjoyed an extra half portion of cod, which was a nice little bonus for us. The staff were friendly, and I would happily give this place five stars and recommend it to others."

"During our first visit to the Cottage Inn, we discovered a wonderfully friendly pub that we will certainly return to on our next trip to Filey. My wife decided to head to the bar (a change of pace for her, haha), and she came back with a big smile on her face. It turns out that the owner shares a similar upbringing to my wife, which added to the warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, meals were not being served during our visit, but if everything goes back to normal, we look forward to enjoying a meal there as well."

"We discovered this fantastic dining spot after a disappointing lunch at the Station Pub in Filey. Upon entering the Lighthouse, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly waitress. The teahouse is beautifully decorated with vibrant colors and features a lighthouse theme. Our meals were delicious, served promptly, and thoroughly enjoyed by both of us. The staff quickly cleared and disinfected the tables after guests left, keeping the entire place spotless. We returned for another lunch a few days later, which we also enjoyed, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!"

"We waited over 40 minutes for our desserts. We chased this up and the staff brought them out 6 minutes after chasing. We politely requested to have some money off the bill due to the huge wait. The Manager on shift on evening of 2nd September told us the kitchen had not received the order. We explained that we were customers that hated to complain, but we 100% made the order. We could not remember who served as as there were several waitresses and waiters running around the place, but requested that thinking about 'customer first ' they took what we were saying in good faith. The Manager at one point said 'she could not get a word in edgeways ' and that from where they were coming from, no order was made. We offered to pay full price at this point to avoid any further conflict, but the experience left us feeling frustrated- what we said was not taken in good faith, and we were left feeling not even too bothered about the late food but appalled at how the manager had spoken to us, and then taken the 15 pounds for the desserts from customers that were clearly upset. It feels like poor business sense to insist on 15 pounds for the sake of ruining your customers meal and the restaurant reputation. We will be re- thinking before visiting the Blue Dolphin again with our friends, as it 's given a 'money grabbing ' impression and made us feel pretty used as returning customers."

"6 of us (3 children) were staying at the Haven Blue Dolphin Site not far from Filey and we had decided last minute to have a meal out. After a quick search on Trip Advisor we tried the Bull Inn which is local however they decided to stop selling food 2 hours before advertised! So we headed to Filey to the Italian San Marco however it was also not to be as they were full. After another quick search on Trip Advisor we came across The Cobble Bar and Bistro. I made a quick call to them and spoke with a lovely girl who assured us we could all be fed. We headed straight round. Third time lucky? Initial impressions were ok, it did feel a little plain and there wasn't much atmosphere (it was a Sunday night mind you) however the smell of food was just lovely! I think due to being called a Bistro I was maybe expecting something a little more upmarket, not that I am implying it was run down or shabby as it wasn't either. We were warmly greeted by Ella who also happened to be the girl I spoke to on the phone. We were seated and she attended to us all night. The service was excellent and the food was really really good. I won't bore you with all that we ate but it all tasted fresh and the food appeared to be all home made. The pizza, burgers and fish were all very good and the portion sizes about right. We were left feeling well fed and extremely satisfied. The food was great but if I'm honest the service outshone the food, Ella was so polite and attentive and always had a smile on her face. At no point did we feel like we were being served in a restaurant, she almost seemed like someone we knew but hadn't seen for a while. The food was really good, the service was great and we had very little wait time for our food. Most importantly we didn't feel robbed when it came time to pay. All in all I would definitely recommend the Cobble and would happily return again. Thank you."
