"I'm going to this restaurant for about 9 years now and it is still a great pleasure to come back everytime I'm around Frejus. The location is great. You can eat outside enjoying the sunset on the tiny harbor of Frejus, while sitting in a classy and relaxed atmosphere. Then comes the food. I became vegetarian a long time ago and I know that they serve there really good home made pastas. If you are lucky enough the see the ones with the creamy sauce with cepes or morilles, go for it; If you like mushrooms, you'll be pleased. Although they serve fresh fish, their speciality, the rest worth a try. Regarding the desserts, the pastry chef will give to your senses a nice travel of sweetness and lightness, depending on your choice. They can also prepare something special on demand that will never disappoint you : for the 30th birthday of my best friend, we made him a surprise and organised a dinner there. We ordered a home made Paris-Brest which was absolutly amazing. They knew my friend was a guitar player and took the initiative to give that cake a guitar shape... What else to add ? The service indeed! You will be welcome with a honest smile and the employees of Le Cesar will always make you feel special for them, which is what we are looking for, right ?!In terms of prices, you can go for it without thinking about your wallet. Le Cesar offers you the service and quality of a Michelin Star rated restaurant for reasonnable prices.Defenetly a place to visit for all food and gastronomy lovers, who like to enjoy the french kitchen and share good moments."

"We booked this restaurant 3 times during our stay. The first time we visited it was lovely. The service was excellent, polite and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice but it is opposite a group of other restaurants so it got busy with people the later the night went on. We would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. The second visit was abysmal. I have never been treated in such a way before. We had a waitress come over to take our order. I ordered in French and everything I said, she responded in English. When she came with the wine she stopped speaking English and asked if we wanted to try the wine. We had had the wine before so I said, in French, no thank you it's fine. She raised her eyebrows, muttered under her breath and slammed the bottle of wine into the bucket deciding not to even pour the wine because I hadn't tasted it. When she came back I asked if there was a problem and my husband asked why she hadn't poured the wine. All of sudden she stopped speaking English and responded to everything in French. We asked to speak to the manager, Freek Luiten to explain the situation. He said it was a misunderstanding and said he would solve the problem by pouring the wine. We said it wasn't a misunderstanding, it was rude and unexpected in a restaurant like this. He kept repeating that it was a misunderstanding and didn't recognise why we were unhappy. My husband then said OK well if it happens again then we will leave. He then said that we were threatening him and should leave. I asked to speak to him inside as we were in the middle of everyone eating and he said there's no need for that. He then said you need to leave. We got our things and left the restaurant. Freek was very dismissive and made comments such as, I've served 70000 customers and I've never been spoken to in this way. The lack of understanding and the arrogance was very disappointing and it made us feel very mistreated. I had already booked a table for the Tuesday after this incident on the Saturday because there was a band playing on Tuesday night. We weren't planning to go and had booked somewhere else, but couldn't go due to no taxis being available so we ended up having to go back here. Eugene our waiter was excellent, as he was the first time we visited on the Thursday. The food was good and we had a cocktail which was nice. The live band was brilliant and really made the atmosphere special. We were nervous about bumping into Freek and the waitress from Saturday but thankfully we didn't speak with them. We would rate it a 4 out of 5. Overall, the food is good, the atmosphere is great with the live entertainment and Eugene and another waiter that we dealt with were brilliant. A sour taste for us for being treated the way we were, especially as we were also staying in the hotel the restaurant owns."
