"Gy en Sologne is a tiny sleepy village deep in the Sologne. Needing lunch after a visit to Chateau du Moulin, we liked the look of this unpretentious bar. The menu for lunch was €12.50, wine and coffee included which we thought a bargain and this was before we started on our lunch. A pasta salad was followed by very decent pate. We flunked the andouiilette that many were enjoying, and we all had an accurately cooked sirloin steak , one bleu, two seigneant and one a point, all perfect, with some excellent baked potato, much enjoyed by all of us. To follow was cheese, very good, and a variety of sweets, including apple tart, chocolate mouse, creme caramel, all declared to be good. A second bottle of wine was bought as a matter of course, though we did not need it, we appreciated the gesture. Finally, a nice espresso all round, and we left in a happy state indeed, generously treated to a better meal than we had any right to expect. This is the kind of cafe which deserves support and encouragement."
