"The menu has been expanded and updated and includes a really good range of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes. The wine is good and it is possible to dine economically or to push he boat out. The decor is quirky and the only problem is the live music which can be over powering when sitting near the musicians. Otherwise a great venue."

"We had a terrible dining experience at this restaurant. The tables were sticky and there were no tablecloths provided. The windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years and there were so many spiders that it was difficult to enjoy our meal. The hotel was in a terrible state, with the upstairs restaurant area being a mess. The place desperately needs a complete refurbishment. Considering its prime location, the condition of The Mitre is unacceptable. It should be inspected by authorities in its current state."
