"Several times I visited the Restaurant Brunnen am Theater with my friends and so far was largely satisfied. The dishes were very plentiful and generally also tastefully prepared. The salads are fresh and pleasantly dressed. To the menu: [here link] The staff is friendly and accommodating, but sometimes something cumbersome. It is a petty-bourgeois Croatian cuisine, star kitchen must not be expected. The price performance ratio is at any rate consistent. The ambience is somewhat subcooled and the noise level is not necessarily pleasant with full occupation. But: what should, you can eat there properly and at very reasonable prices. Sufficient parking is available. The restaurant is located in the civic house or the cultural hall of the city.We will surely visit the restaurant more often. Insight is also possible on the side of the town of Rödermark, Kulturhalle: [here link] Update on 25.10. 2015 Because of the very different critiques, today once again food in the well at the theatre was appealed. He was there with friends for another test dinner today. 3 times mixed salad in front of the dishes belonging to 1 Zanderfilet with fresh vegetables and rice 14,50 € 1 lamb fillet with bacon beans and potato corners 18,90 € 1 grill plate with pommes and Djuvecreis 10.90 € 3 times Peljesac wine to 0.2 L for 10,50 total 2 times black beer to 0.3 L for 4,60 € total 1 mineral water 0.2 to 1.80 € The Zanderfilet was very good, the vegetables were not raw and not cooked, but with some bite I like. Total food earns at least 4* The service was flotted today, attentive and the food came to the table in a reasonable time. What do you want? That is why I cannot understand the negative reviews."

"I'll start by letting you know that no one at this restaurant will admit to speaking English, their is no English menu, and it really has the feel of a restaurant that's been there for 50 years and little has changed, perhaps exempting 2 or 3 of the patrons. That's great, because that was just the experience I wanted to have. It's interesting always being around college educated Germans, they all speak English quite well, and you never get to practice your German. But when you find a good working class restaurant, you get both authentic food and the chance to say things absolutely incorrectly to the amusement of the locals.Having said all that, the food was excellent. The prices are remarkably reasonable for Germany. And the house beer outstanding. I had the schnitzle Katje, which is a very good (and large) pork filet covered in a tasty mushroom cream sauce (and tater tots, but you can't have everything). It comes with the obligatory German salad, but Katje's did this quite well, with a nice home made dressing. I also had the Goulash Soup, and that was a special delight on a cold winter day.Katje's is completely special because it is "nothing special". That is, they don't "try" to be "authentic", they simply are. The people there don't look for the "real" German experience. They simply were real Germans enjoying a night at a local, comfortable, home-cooking restaurant. And just like we would look for meatloaf or fried chicken as comfort food, everything on their menu screams German comfort food. (Do you like pork?)Be warned. they don't take credit cards, but there is a cash machine just down the block. Parking is easy. If you're having a flight from the airport the next day, you can do far worse than showing up at this great local place (about 10 miles from FRA) to enjoy a comfortable night with the locals and one or two takes at their very good brew."
