"One of our party is a vegetarian for health reasons, so we called ahead to inquire about the cooking methods for the chips at this restaurant. We were initially informed that the chips were cooked separately from fish and meat, so we made a reservation. However, upon arrival and further questioning, we discovered that the chips were in fact cooked in the same fryer as everything else. Despite having several dishes marked as vegetarian and vegan on the menu, it was clear that they were not truly vegetarian-friendly due to the shared fryer and the presence of dishes containing parmesan cheese, which may contain animal fat. We decided to leave and find another place to eat. It's a shame because the pub is lovely and situated on the Riverside, with great beer. However, the misleading menu was a letdown. Vegetarians should be cautious as not everything labeled as vegetarian or vegan actually is. In terms of food, we rate it a 1, service a 3, and atmosphere a 4. Overall, we would not recommend this restaurant to fellow vegetarians."
