"Again very hot in Karlstadt on this 12. August – 33 degrees. A visit to the castle park of Veitshöchheim and a boat tour from there to Würzburg have preferred the sweating cycling and hiking around Karlstadt. The air-conditioned transport train will take us from Würzburg to Karlstadt – and now we'll go over the main road to get a seat under the umbrellas of the numerous restaurants. We manage to land at the Fehmelbauer. The Ambiente Zum Fehmelbauer invites you to stay in Karlstadter Hauptstraße 22 in a multi-storey, stylishly renovated half-timbered house. The ocher-colored compartments are in a pleasant contrast to the brown painted beams in the framework. A maidonna and a nasal sign decorate the front of the inn. In front of the house guests in the pedestrian zone are served under parasols. You sit on beer garden tables and on chairs with seat cushions. The furnishing appears more noble than the beer garden usual. We can only judge the atmosphere from outside. We haven't been in the guest room. As with other restaurants in the main street, which we only met from outside gastronomy, we value three and a half stars. The service A friendly lady quickly takes note of us after we have set ourselves and takes the first drinks: mineral water (1.90 € of the quarterliter) and land beer (2.80 € of half liter). She'll serve us all night. She's doing a good job. Nevertheless, we need to make marks when evaluating the service. Operation takes up our food order by about 20:30 h, while a young man already depends on slate boards with daily offers on the house wall. We make the kitchen right now, fast, our lady comments quickly. It's too hot in the kitchen. Also for other waiting guests, hoppladihopp will pick up the order. The kitchen time, however, usually ends only about an hour later. Finally, the preferred kitchen closure leads to the fact that my plate is removed from another operating force without comment, although I still consume the remaining supplemental salad. I guess you want to wash the dishes quickly. If we had rated the service with four stars without the Fauxpas, it is now only three – with all the understanding of the heat-plasted kitchen team. Food Franconian food in all kinds of variations are offered. In addition, the map lists Vegetarians, Steaks, Schnitzel, Filets vom Schwein und Salate in several variations. If you like to eat fish, don't go empty. Seasonal is usually found on the daily ticket. Everything is at the price level for Karlstadt. My wife and I choose – Zanderfilet grilled with fresh pawlings on fetucchine and salad to €15.80 each. The first thirst is erased, my wife lets water be and goes to the Karschter Flaak Silvaner, dry (3rd € of the five-wire). It is served quickly and well-tempered. Little later, the serviceman will bring us the salad. Leaf salads, marinated carrots, raw carrots, radish slices, corn and rocket are made with a yogurt dressing and crowned by a few drops of Aceto Balsamico. The salad is crunchy and fresh, the dressing and a subsequent pinch of salt and pepper give the appropriate seasoning. We don't wait long for our main foods. Three neat zander fillets, mottled and baked on the skin, framed by a good portion of delicate brown fried pifferlings, cover the Fetucchine noodle bed. The Zander is beautifully crispy outside, juicy inside and very tasteful. The fetucchines are swung in parsley butter and taste very good. To season both fish and noodles we add some salt and pepper. The food has tasted, another Karschter Flaak Silvaner, dry for my better half and a pils of the barrel (2.60 € for 0.4 l) for me form the end of the evening with a digestive snack, a **** fire (2. € for 2 cl). The food is tasty and professionally prepared. We have nothing to put out and therefore forgive four stars and the note good. Whether this also applies to the guest room and the toilets, we cannot judge because we were not there. With these limitations four stars and a good for cleanliness. The price performance ratio We take the service and food as the main factors for assessing the price performance ratio, so we settle the fehmelbauer in this category at three and a half stars, i.e. between o.k. and well. The conclusion of the locals has advised us to visit the fehmel farmer. When we go, we know why. We eat well and are very satisfied. We recommend Zum Fehmelbauer and rate a total of three and a half stars with a strong tendency to four stars."

"We have now thrown our walking plan for the one-week stay in Karlstadt. Great heat and a bubble at the foot has made us switch to bicycles. At least the bladder does not settle, and the wind leaves the temperature of 34 degrees on this 9. August becomes more bearable. A good 30 kilometers are wheeled, the wheels are again accommodated in the hotel's bicycle shed, showered and off to the main road. It is again magnificent among the parasols in front of the restaurants on the Karlstadter Flaniermeile. Finally we get a free table in timeless. The ambience The building in the main street 28 with the timeless on the ground floor is immediately in the eye. A powerful ocher-coloured arcade building lets the building jump out of the front line. Among the arcades, the arcades lined with brown-toned stones, and other additional parasols offer the timeless spice ' and potion in the outdoor gastronomy. We're sitting outside the evening and haven't been in the guest room of the timeless. One sits comfortably on the seat cushion in the dark grey chairs on small rectangular tables, all up to the metal table tops and reminiscent of terrace furniture. As with our visit to Da Franco, we rate the ambience with all the above, i.e. three and a half stars. The service After we have taken place, we wait a while. The young man, who is to serve us, is busy with clearing works at other tables before he takes note of us, almost at the same time with my wife's purpose is to go? He gives us the menus. As a first drink, my enthusiasts order a water and I order a biker suitable for the bike tour (both 3,50 € of half a liter). The young man serves us for the evening – I say – according to obligation. He does his job, no more and no less. We rate that with an o.k., three stars. The menu includes carvings, steaks (also dry aged), salads, fish, pizzas, flame cakes, vegetarians and Franconian. There is no lack of choice, especially as the carvings are offered in four sizes: L, XL, XXL and XXXL. Prices seem appropriate to us, a price level as found in small towns. From our waiter now supplied with water and cyclists, my wife – a flame cake Mediterranean at 8,50 €, and I choose – roasted zander fillet, scampi and picky salmon on summer salads at 12,90 €. The hunger is not so great at this hot evening, but liquid is necessary. In view of the first drink going to the neige, we order a reluctance, my wife a Mühlbacher Silvaner (3.90 € of the five-wire) and I the Duke of Franken, no, no wine, but a Franconian beer (3.50 € of half a liter). Wine and beer are quickly brought by our service, the Frankenbier in the Steinkrug. My wife is trying the wine. Too warm, her spontaneous judgment. A later glass still has the right temperature. The beer foam in the Steinkrug has already fallen, the beer surface is visible when I reach the Duke of Franken. Hoppla, the beer level is well below the oak. In the case of a later beer, ordered with another beer until the oak coat, then the beer level is at the level of the marking. Flamecake and zander fillet do not allow long to wait. The flame cake is coated with sour cream, rag, olives, sheep cheese and peperoni give the Mediterranean touch. My better half seasons with salt and pepper. O.k. is her close judgment. My zander fillet on salads comes colourful. On leaf salads, tomato slices, cucumber slices, radish slices, carrot rasps and sprouts are the light brown roasted zander fillet with pesto, the pink-colored scampi and the reddish smiles garnished. I order vinegar and oil to optimize salad dressing and receive an excellently tasty apple balsamico from Wiberg in addition to extra virgin olive oil. The summer salad tastes very good. Zanderfilet, Scampi and the mildly pickled salmon are tasteful and well prepared. Our judgment on the consumed would certainly have been better if there weren't any shortcomings in the drinks. So we just value food and drinks with three stars, a scarce O.k... The cleanliness on the outside of our table is nothing to complain about. The guest room and the toilets are not taken into account in our assessment as we were not there. We give four stars. The price-performance ratio With more care for drinks and a little more commitment to the service, the price-performance ratio is quite good. The conclusion, well, it doesn't really tear us back here. The food is o.k., perhaps are not well-tempered wine and low beer level in the Steinkrug slipper. Let's say jaaa, o.k. as a conclusion."

"The 7th of August is said to be the hottest day of the week. Tourists and locals in Karlstadt dawn on this day as in a brooding apparatus. We – my wife and I – who have traveled to the Main for hiking and a birthday party of a colleague, have defied the heat and inactivity. We're migrated – crazy, aren't we? – slower and not as far as else, just slap 11km. In the woods and on the heights around Karlsburg, the barely 40 degrees can be held. Shortly freshened in the hotel – and already we go to the main road with Sahara thirst and excited appetite. This is where restaurant meets restaurant, all with street gastronomics under inviting parasols. It is plumpy among the parasols, everything leches after cool drinks. We finally find a free table at Da Franco. The Ristorante italiano offers drinks and typical Italian dishes on the ground floor of a beige pink house on the main street 32. The house, multi-storey and renovated, fits into the medieval cityscape. In front of the house, on the Karlstadter Flaniermeile mostly square dark brown tables with surrounding comfortable chairs, seat and back surface plastic braided and also dark brown invite you to stay. What's in the guest room? I can't write anything about that. We didn't enter him. It is so hot, and the body stores supplied liquid like a sponge. We sit the evening over cozy and relaxed in an ambience that we rate with all the above, with three and a half stars. The service We need to wait for a while after we have taken place. The lady who is to serve us has a lot to do, and it is tropical warm. Finally, she finds the way to our table, passes us the menus and records for the first two white beers each 2,80 € . She is consistently friendly, gives us tips when choosing food, later asks if it tastes. After the appetizer, she gives us the choice when we want to eat another, a wink. In the course of the evening the lady is supported by a gentleman, apparently the boss, in the service. We also observe a longer waiting period after the occupancy with two young people at the side table, who already seem unstoppable. The no longer appropriate waiting time is not an exception. We therefore reduce the otherwise good impression of the service to three and a half stars. The menu, supplemented with a daily menu, lists the typical dishes for Italians. An extract of the menu presents Da Franco on his websites. Pizzen is available in three different sizes: 24, 28 and 32 cm in diameter. The dishes are cheaper in the context of the usual, rather even cheaper. My better half decides for ravioli with mushroom filling in sage butter with rocket hood and parmesan plan €9.80, and I order spaghetti “Aglio e Olio” con peperoncino €7.90 . Before that we both would like to have a salad, and here the serving lady would like to bring us a small insalata “Nostromo” various salads with tuna onion, artich I'm worried about my feeling of hunger for getting satt and putting value on the great execution of 8,50 € under the incomprehensible views of my wife. Further feed on cool Franconian beers shortens the waiting time. It does not take long, and the service lady balances a large rectangular plate, loaded with a salad tower and a tuna hood at our table: the Insalata “Nostromo”. At least literaryly migrated seems to be the name of the salad, he calls it after the title character Nostromo Bootsmann in the homonymous novel by Joseph Conrad. We'll share the salad. In addition to the annon-cited ingredients, we also find paprika cubes, carrots, corn grains, boiled eggs and tomato quarters. We season a little with pepper and salt and the reordered balsamico and olive oil. A bowl with fresh baguette accompanies the salad. The salad is crunchy and fresh, the baguette is crispy outside. Tastefully there is nothing to complain. We're very well saturated when the salad plate is empty. Don't worry about getting drunk? The eyes were bigger than the belly. We need a fool. No problem for the service, we should give a sign if we want further food. After a while we ask for the continuation, and after a short waiting period the lady of the service brings us the primi piatti. A strong garlic odor wades over our table. The spaghetti “Aglio e Olio” con peperoncino exude the Knobi fragrance. A handsome portion of spaghetti clings on my plate, garnished with parsley. The noodles are perfectly cooked, hot and al dente. The Aglio e Olio mixture is exactly according to my taste, crispy and sharp. I can give the spaghetti an excellent one. My wife is also very satisfied with the ravioli with the rose filling in sage butter with rocket and parmesan plank. However, she complains about too much butter in which the ravioli floats, and Rucolastgel, who should have been removed better because of their hardness before dressing. The rich fresh parmesan helps to bind the butter. My antagonists value the food as very tasteful, well prepared and awards four stars. Four and a half stars are therefore justified for main food and salad. The cleanliness tables, dishes and cutlery are clean. We didn't use the toilets and didn't see the interior. We evaluate the cleanliness in the outdoor area with good. The price performance ratio Here are four stars justified: more than good and plentiful food, the service well with small smear. The conclusion We still lift the liquid content in our bodies with the one or the other Frankenpils at 0.4 l for €2.50, 0.3 l for €2. At Franco we are happy to return and recommend the Italian stranded in Karlstadt."

"A hot hot day is this Monday in Karlstadt. After a hike around the Karlstädter Schlossberg in Toms Eismanufaktur we cooled down, then freshened and are now on Monday evening on the Pirsch after a restaurant kitten in Karlstädter Hauptstraße. It is like bewitched – some of the restaurants are closed, Monday is rest day. We're always standing in front of closed doors, so you could suspect a plot. And the few restaurants that have opened are occupied to the last place. “Let’s go away from the main road towards the railway station,” I say to my wife without plan. A stroller tour leads us through angled alleys, and suddenly we see cheerful people at garden tables emptying their plates in a park. We landed on Jahnstraße, which hits the new railway line. The corner building is the hotel railway with a Maldives chef and international dishes. On the other side of the Jahnstraße, right opposite the hotel side, a park-like complex spreads out, in the middle of the hotel's beer garden. We see free tables, we ask a young serving lady if something is still free for two people. She must clarify this, she tells us, and after some time she comes to us smiling and points to a second table where we could sit. Finally, we sit and also in a pleasant park ambience with shady trees. Two young ladies work in the service. You have a lot to do, which is why the obvious boss is helping. The ladies are very friendly, ask the usual questions about the satisfaction of the guest. However, the service paralyzes something that is still forgiven for the numerous guests. Not so easy to forgive, however, is a patzer that I noticed late at my main court. Instead of the vegetarian variant, I get the chicken variant. We start with an aperitif, a kind of self-reward, because we want to enjoy the stay now after we've been on the Pirsch for so long. Two • Limoncello splash (each 5.50 € it should be a start. Thanks to ice cubes, the limoncelli are well cooled and splashy. A service lady counts us on demand the ingredients: Limoncello, Minze, Prosecco, mineral water and ice cubes. “Lecker dat”, says the Rhineland. The service ladies let us have time for the aperitif, which will suit us because we are studying the menu with steak dishes, Maldives curries, salad dishes and burgers. Guacamole, tomato sauce and sour cream taste good. I have been eating for a while without taking the inside of the tortilla bags closer under the magnifying glass and firmly convinced to eat vegetarian. No trace of meat taste. But suddenly I notice chicken meat taste. “There’s chicken in there,” I say to my wife when I have consumed almost three of the bags. The chicken strips that have nothing to look for in the court ordered by me are obviously very unequally distributed. I think I should ask for replacement, but because of my almost stilled appetite and eat the chicken stripe variant, which also sounds good to me. On the invoice, this variant is also worth €15.50. In retrospect, I should have better pointed out to the interchanged court, so that the mistake of the kitchen and the serviceman becomes aware. I am now not a militant vegan, I also like to eat meat, but “vegetarian ordered” also means “vegetarian delivered”, even if the chicken quesadilla tasted me well. That's why: a clear drop. While my wife is trying the “Domina”, my “plenus venter” demands a perseverance, a fruit brand (2 cl for 2.80 €, which is served uncooled but aroma-enveloping. There's nothing to complain about cleanliness. We haven't visited the toilets. The prices for food and beverages seem to us appropriate and local. However, the incorrectly served Quesadilla variant impairs the ratio of prices to performance in kitchen and service. We would give the Hotel Bahn another chance. Bugs happen now, and the servicemen had all the hands to do."
