"My husband and I were out in Dunfermline and thought we 'd try somewhere different for lunch. On checking the menu I noted there was a small vegan menu which meant I could eat here. I ordered the sweet potato salad £8.95. My husband, who isn 't vegan, ordered mushroom and chicken stroganoff. When the meals eventually came out the stroganoff looked really bland and the rice watery. He said it tasted ok but was not worth £9.85. My meal was placed in front of me with 2 fried eggs on the plate beside some mushy, sloppy sweet potato. I told the waitress that my meal was incorrect and she said this is the sweet potato salad . I pointed out there were eggs on the plate and she looked confused. I had to explain that eggs are not vegan (and were also not listed as being part of the meal). She took the plate away and came back a while later with more sweet potato slop that had some cranberries added and some spinach. The amount of food on the plate was pitiful. It was more like a tapas amount. I ate it as I thought it might taste better than it looked. It was bland and completely over cooked slop. The waitress came no where near us again so I had no opportunity to send the food back. When I went to pay the man at the till asked how the food was. He was shocked when I told him it was awful. In fairness to him he removed my meal from the bill and apologised which was appreciated. The chef clearly needs a lesson in what vegan food is and how to cook it properly. He also needs to learn that vegan portions need to be a lot bigger than what is currently being dished up. I won 't be retuning here again."

"It was the early afternoon, 11am or thereabouts. My friends and I decided that we would visit the PANCAKE PLACE in Dunfermline for a late birthday lunch. At about 11:05, we approached the entrance to the Pancake Place, only to be hit with a waft of vinegar and what seemed like wet rag strange, I know! You 'd think they 'd at least have an air freshener. Anyways, regardless, we were seated very quickly, by a fine waiter with a feminine voice. Though, to my disgust, when we got to our assigned table, it was STICKY and there was sugar all over the place enough to put you off a hearty meal! Eventually, we ordered drinks. They are VERY expensive, so please do not come here if you are on a low income. It was £3.50 for a soda and orange juice RIDICULOUS! My dear friend also ordered a peach iced tea. But, to our horror, it was just LIPTON in a glass at a very high price £4.50! . It was also very gooey and sweet avoid! When we finally placed our food order, we were yet again disgusted. The chips were the best thing about the meal, unfortunately. My friend and I ordered the soup which was watery and flavourless; my friend also got a baguette with her soup, it was only really one of those ones you flung in the oven that you get from Morrisons very pricey too. My other friend ordered a toastie, but, to her disgust, it was very thin no filling whatsoever. It was as if a tiny bit of jam was holding two slices of cheap, ALDI bread together very unappetising. Finally, my dear vegetarian friend ordered a hotdog. TOO EXPENSIVE! £9.50 a horrid price. To sum up, our visit here was substandard. If you like cold burgers and chips that are overpriced, then this is the place for you! It should be called the shartcake place!"

"Visited on a saturday night. Restuarant was more or less empty yet staff seemed to be rushing around. Quickly became evident this was due to takeaway orders The owner who is normally very friendly and recognises us as regular customers seemed less friendly. When asked at the end of the meal if everything was ok I politely stated I was disappointed with my meal but my husbands had been fine and was surprised to be challenged back that it 'looked like ' the curry I 'd ordered so I stated it didn 't taste like any kind of curry. It was chicken in a tomato sauce. I also wasnt the only person in the restuarant that night with the same experience. Therefore we requested and were quickly issued the full bill, paid and left and wont be back. Not only due to the quality of the meal but the surprising attitude displayed when we gave our requested feedback, lack of atmosphere, length of time we waited to have our drinks order taken, having the drinks ordered wrong and length of time to take our order. I had no issue with length of time waiting for freshly prepared food but if I order a certain curry I expect it to taste like that. Wht could have been a simple 'sorry about that ' could have been brushed off as a one off but the way it was handled has finished us off. Shame but I 'd rather drive over to Corstophine for a decent curry. Very sad as I 've always loved the place"
