Marburg, a charming university town in Germany, is known for its medieval architecture. Typical local dishes include Handkäse with music and hearty Hessian sausage specialties.

"This restaurant offers a nice selection of vegan burgers (even with three different vegan patties), fries and sauces. I had a BBQ styled one with vegan cheese and it was excellent, and I loved the fries! Got some house made lemonade with the food to round things up. I also dig the fact that the portion size is not too excessively huge like at many other fast food places, so you can actually finish everything you get. Would definitely come again! "If going with colleagues for the first time, certainly a suggestion.Start with a walk from the old city centre to the Slot, it looks frightening, but it is worth. Good view of Marburg, even evidence how people lived in the past (just imagine being a post officer) After the restaurant will not disappoint, service and food are great, reflecting the standards they like to be recognised against.A no brainer, just go for it."

"I have eaten here several times and just love the atmosphere! the pizza chicks are great. if they want, they can go a cake. I also like their breakfast, for which they get a separate menu. Vegan options are marked. because they choose each part of their breakfast, they do not have to worry about it being too much. However, due to this her breakfast could also be quite pricy."

"Even when we entered this hotel, we felt comfortable. The happy young woman at the reception accepted all of our concerns nicely, allowed us a late check-out, drew us a proposal for a route into the city plan and also had an umbrella for us. Just as well it went on in the “comfort room”. Ordinarily there was room and a cozy upholstery group for the stay on the day. Well, a little old-fashioned the furniture, but this was compensated by modern technology: the larger flat screen television, the stereo system and the electric slat rust adjustment of the really comfortable bed. In the washroom, which is also spacious and fully equipped, WC and bidet showed the formal language of classical modernity. After a long night, the sturdy handles on the bathtub were of advantage and our brain functions were restarted by the left thread of the shower height adjustment. Everything was very well maintained and lightning clean. On the extensive breakfast buffet we again experienced the special attention and kindness of the staff. The double room booked to the regular rate costs incl. Breakfast 93 €, plus 7 € for the garage space (prices as of April 2013). In view of what has been offered to us, it seems to us favorable for the conditions of a smaller city. We recommend this hotel. The hotel includes a “Mediterranean restaurant” that we did not visit and therefore does not relate to this assessment. If you want to arrive by car, you should borrow grandma's narrow bugs. For modern limousines, the conditions on the old double car park are very close."

"For a city without vegan-only restaurants they have a relatively large selection of vegan options. You can stay there or get everything for the retreat. Especially the cupcakes are very nice Updated by previous review on 2022-06-25"

"After reading the many positive reviews of this place, we came here expecting excellent food and atmosphere, but we found neither. The decor and server uniforms were outdated and a bit kitschy. Our waitress was fine but we noticed some of the other servers serving food and drinks rather unprofessionally. We started with bruschetta, which was tasty but nothing special and lacked in flavor complexity. We each had a pasta dish (mine was tagliatelle with mushrooms and garlic and was described as spicy, but turned out to be rather bland - no spice at all, and with only a hint of garlic flavor. My boyfriend ordered four cheese gnocchi which was quite heavy on the blue cheese and was also decent, but not great.) We finished with creme caramel and tiramisu, opting for these since they were both housemade. However, both desserts were underwhelming at best - really not a good way to finish the meal.We did have an odd experience while paying - we sat for 10+ minutes waiting for our waitress to bring our change (as we had put down significantly more cash than the bill expecting change to tip appropriately and she, unlike the other server, did not have a wallet) but finally had to ask her for it.Overall, we felt the portions were a bit small for the price and left feeling only sort of full and glad we'd gotten some snacks at the grocery store that afternoon. The decor and plating were outdated (odd paper napkins and parsley sprinkled everywhere!). The food was decent but really not great. We probably wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious or refreshing dining experience and also are in no hurry to return. Also - if you don't speak German, beware - the English menu is not up to date in either content or pricing."

"beautiful hotel restaurant in the Marburger Unterstadt near the railway station and the Elisabethenkirche. Directly opposite is the lift to the Marburger Oberstadt. In the entrance area, in addition to a warm welcome, fresh fruit and candy awaits a beautiful gesture The rooms were large, clean and bright and despite the main road. very quiet. Also in our rooms we had a small welcome to peanuts, as well as information material about the city of Marburg. Unfortunately, we have no time for visits, etc., but are picked up because the brochures want to do more, because this time in the form of a congress work awaits us. The breakfast selection is huge, plates with sausage, sinks, salmon, cheese ver. Egg preparations, sausages, yogurt, sweets, jams, honey, cereals, juices, water, champagne, coffee, teas .... In addition, a large selection of rolls and breads, sweet pieces and fresh fruit very tasty. Some small mankos also have breakfast room on all days loud and very full and in the rooms unfortunately little space to hang clothes no closed wardrobe, but only a kind of wardrobe you get early enough to enjoy an early booking discount of 10%."

"Good vegan donuts, not the best I have eaten yet though (the best in Gießen, I guess) and very pricy. Also the shopdesign is very special, but that doesn‘t really matter, does it?"

"Arriving at our German hotel after a long day of traveling, we asked the receptionist for a good place to eat in the immediate neighborhood. She directed us to the Elisabeth. Upon arriving, we received a very friendly greeting. We each had a house-brewed beer-- very good. The two in our party who ordered soup were very pleased-- a pumpkin and an apple celery. Three in our group ordered salads and they were creative, beautifully made and delicious. I noticed that the restaurant's owner was eating rouladen when we came in but it wasn't on the menu. I asked the waitress about this and she said that she would see what she could do. Yes, I could have it, and it was delicious. We also had an opportunity to speak with both our waitress and the owner about Marburg and they gave us some good tips and information. Good food, friendly people and info about a town-- a good experience for us all."
