"Lovely old tradition pub with a proper fire!! Stopped off on our way home from Whitby and both had Steak Ale pie and chips. The pie was amazing, nice beefy steak and ale gravy under a flaky pastry crust. And big fat crispy homemade chips...perfect. We were served by a lovely polite young waitress, who came back halfway through our meal to check everything was OK. We hadn't booked a table, and it was busy but they were able to fit us in. They allow motorhomes over night and it's in a great area for walks. Dog friendly in the bar area.
