"On our holiday in Nerja we felt that breakfasting here was ‘a given’ for us because: • it was very close to our accommodation • the standard of food and drinks are invariably very good • the breakfast menu offers plenty of choice • tables and surrounding areas are kept clean • it is inexpensive for the quality offered • there is comfortable and sheltered outside seating • the service is very good and friendly, with English being understood by the majority of waitering staff • it is located in an attractive and busy open location in the cultural centre of Nerja • it’s great for people-watching The only issues we have is: • The tea has a barely average flavour; far too weak, even when we asked for, and were happily provided with, two teabags per cup. The coffee was conversely very good: strong with a bitter burnt caramel flavour that we both enjoy. In our experience tea in most restaurants anywhere in the world (including the UK) is rarely as good as it is when we brew it at home. So, this issue is most probably unavoidable: unless we take our own teabags with us? • Sadly, some of our fellow customers find it necessary to smoke and, as lifetime non-smokers, we hate the disgusting stench of drifting cigarette smoke. As the law stands there is nothing that we can do about it, and every outside dining area is likely to suffer with much the same problem. So, again this issue is probably unavoidable. The yoghurt, with fruit or cereal, is lovely; but we found it necessary to ask for less of the heavily-sugared strawberry syrup that is poured into the bottom of the sundae glass, the yoghurt is then added, but not stirred. This request was accepted without issue and, as a result, when we mixed-together all the ingredients, it was far less sweet (and unhealthy) than it would have otherwise been. The toast, in the form of a small soft-crust baton roll, that followed was pretty good and the butter was of a good quality brand. There were preserves provided, but we avoided those, because of the high sugar content. Service, as I say, was a joy and the small pager device on the table usually brought a prompt response. Bills are printed on a small portable printer that is clipped to waiters belts. It’s easy and prevents delays in paying, and releases tables for following customers."

"A very typical menu with some classic Andaluz dishes available. It is extremely reasonable. They run a 12€ 3 course menu alongside the a la carte. All the food came out very quickly and was absolutely delicious. The service was patchy, but the lady who took our order was meticulous and most definitely in charge, she was great. The setting is very nice, however it is next to the main road into the town, so it can get noisy with cars. It's a mainstay, and I go every time i visit here to eat the more classic dishes, you can't go wrong. 2 children and 4 adults with drinks cost us €100, I don't think you can find that quality to price ratio anywhere else in the town.
