"We stayed a night in the Lion d'Or, arriving late (2200h) when we were given a pleasant welcome by the manageress. The room was a little spartan, but spotlessly clean and no less than what you would expect in a Swiss country hotel for this...price. The bathroom was modern and also spotless. If I had to look for a criticism it is that 1. there was only one tooth glass, and 2. the pillows are huge and not very comfortable: so you can see that there's nothing much I can say against the place. The room looked out over the delightful Fribourg countryside, and was completely quiet. Rooms on the other side look over Romont's main street I don't know if they'd be as quiet. Breakfast was perfectly good, served by a friendly waitress: choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate; croissants; bread; muesli; fresh fruit; boiled eggs; ham; butter and jams. The night, including breakfast, cost us CHF 130 for the double room. Not bad for Swiss prices. We left in the morning so didn't try the restaurant."
