"we already come to eat in the restaurant perio since he bought in the nearby village roderetto (the place where there are now some other people) and followed him as he moved to fontane to get a bigger space, even if one at the end of a precipitated road at the top of the val germanasca. this is a restaurant that is often full, but only of that happiness enough to know where it is and how to find it. eating has remained quite the same since the whole time when we arrived there. the standard Italian style set menu of mixed antipasti, primo kartoffeln, secondo and dessert. and for about 20 € per head they get a good quality, locally produced and beautifully prepared eating (piero worked in the legendary iondoner esserei san lorenzo in the 80s, before returning to the valleys, so knows its food). they expect 5 6 different antipasti served as they are made. the last time I had eaten there, I got extraordinary carpaccio with fresh porcini, lemon, olive oil and parmesan sprinkled; grilled aubergine slices; delicate crepes filled with local crumbles; a fiber band of perfectly prepared lukewarm; perfectly ripe plumomate halves and filled with a thunfish and petersilie mayonnaise. and always extra when you spend more. then one of 4 5 five different pastas (or a mixture if they prefer it). I chose a beautiful agnolotti piemontese served in cream and nussauce. friends enjoyed perfectly kissen soft potato gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce (I tried some of these years were the most stimulating I ever had, with a deep potato aroma, stain on bite and texture and a decent **** of creamy cheese sauce to help lubricate); other options include taglioline in tomatensoße and a decent tagliatelle al pesto. the most important courses were as usual solid, generous and exactly cooked classics, if less amazing than what had gone before. local spices, vertebrates in lemon sauce, bratbeef in local wine. all served mixed vegetables. at this point we had eaten almost as much as we could. although dessert tries to select a good tiramisu, apple cake or some chocolate y. rounded off with a complementary round of the house made green serpoul the local crimp liqueur. the total bill for three adult and a hungry teenager who eats four courses, two younger children who only eat pasta, plus a karaffe wein, eis for the children and a lot of fresh grissini and brot came to around 100 € and was brilliant. and all served charming and informative by employees wandering in and out of a half open kitchen, while the child owners play place. it is a special place, and it is worth being as an outstanding food destination in a part of the piemontes not well served by great restaurant food, and as a great place to be full. last year was the local singing group of and sang songs in close harmonie between the curses. this year it was a little quieter, but still as a high point of our time in the valleys. if they find their way here (and it is not easy if they don't already know), they come back again and again."
