"We drove from Paris to Verneuil to vist the town where we'd lived years ago. Of course a lot had changed, We went to the town plaza hoping to find a place to have lunch. There was no parking close in, so we drove...around the streets within a couple blocks of the city center, and still no parking. We took one of the roads out of the city and saw Le Jean Bertin less than a kilometer fom the center, and stopped. It didn't look like much from the outside, but when we met the staff and saw the menu, we knew we'd found a jewel. We were in France driving from city to city for days, and we don't think we had a better lunch than at Le Jean Bertin. It was as good as any we had in Paris, but for a lot less. This is a family owned restaurant, and some of the dishes are what the locals eat. We really enjoyed the home cooking atmosphere. That's the way this small town was years ago. Glad Le Jean Bertin has kept the tradition going."
