"Sorry, we really do not understand the good reviews for this restaurant unless we were really unlucky that night ? But how is it possible to be wrong on 4 dishes ? Chick peas cream with bottarga : a warm untasty hummous with rubbery slices. Puntarelle alici with ricotta and anchovies : untasty and salty. Polenta (dry and unchewable , pecorrino very strong and disgusting, with overbitter chicorée salad. Contorni : orange (very good and so disapointing olives (or should I say absence of olives, they were so small and with absolutely no taste ? still for 5 euros ! Icing on the cake, one of the lovely piece of art on the wall sundenly fall on an empty (thank God ! table. A customer and a waiter promptly put back a faulty hook in his previous position and hang back the painting ! The bill : 43 € it took a while to get it due to some issue with uncooperative cash register !"

"Wonderful local unpretentious trattoria near the Archaeological Museum. Delicious and inexpensive local food. My husband and I had the lombrichelli alla viterbese which was delicious. Our daughters had spaghetti alla carbonara and spaghetti alle vongole which were also cooked perfectly with decent portions. We had radiccio with orange and broccoletti as our sides which were very nice. The tiramisu for dessert was home made, perfect and not overly sweet. A great meal and with wine and water it came to only €65 for 4 people."

"visiting vine with a colleague, we decided to stop at this place, found by chance during our wandering. I must admit that I am convinced to enter only on the request of the colleague, since, according to some personal parameters (earth of entry and interior, presence of typically tourist dishes,) I would hardly have crossed the threshold of my own spontaneous will. The wall placed in the immediate vicinity of the entrance, where some objects are exhibited that symbolize the peasant life and, above all, through a large sign of altarpiece, a kind of solemn tribute to the Chianina cattle breed, the local seems quite unsaturated, which, according to me, is a real sin. The lunch began with a plentiful (big plate of lambs to the vine for the undersigned, the first ever eaten and that I found particularly goose, and a watercot for the colleague. Although I was tempted to ask for another portion of lombrichelli, having never even tried the watercotta I decided to order one for myself and I can say I liked it too. For second we wanted to order a chianina to be divided into two (5.5 € per head, for a declared weight of the steak of 970 g). regarding drinks we only took a bottle of water and two coffees. Overall it was definitely a good lunch, the prices of the first and second dishes are reasonable, but in some cases, for example if you want to eat the Chianina steak, the figures change considerably, you just have to consult the menu. the service was attentive and friendly. If you are passing by and you do not want to spend too much while wanting to eat well I think this restaurant can undoubtedly be useful to you."

"We expect to stay in this farm by booking via Smartbox. We arrived at the club at 4:00 and our room was not yet ready, to apologize for the waiting staff offered us a coffee. "I was looking forward to eating at the Fattoria as we'd called twice to book only to be told they were fully booked so the last time we booked for the following week so we could taste the food ourselves. We are I a cold and rainy Saturday evening and indeed it was full. The main room has around 10 tables with space for around 150 covers and is pleasantly decorated with nice and clean toilets. After sitting down we had to wait about 15 minutes before someone came to bring us the menus which was a little to long to wait. They could have least have taken our drinks order straight away and brought a little appetizer if they were busy. So first minus. First plus. We ordered pizza and one antipasto which was the mixed platter. I enjoyed the platter which was a mix of cured hams, various types of vegetables done different ways and a small selection of cheese. Second plus and second minus: The pizza was very thin but a little insipid for both adults but the kids liked theirs a lot. We asked that they bring the kids pizza with the antipasto which they did but they seemed to have forgotten about our pizza so much so as we had to remind them. The beer on tap is excellent especially the dark beer, highly recommended. Prices in the norm. All in all lots good things to say but a few minuses too."

"We went here twice, this place is truly authentic food of Viterbo. The food, the people owning Porta Romana are the same people making and serving these truly marvelous dinners! OK, the menu is hand written everyday... can you say everything is definitely the freshest best ingredients you can procure!? The homemade pasta and pomodoro is out of this world, the ravioli... OMG!! This isn 't even the best part, because Viterbo cuisine is known for it 's use of pork, very thinly sliced magro (pork) is so tasty, so delicious, so Viterbo! Then there 's stinco the shin. Aside from this incredible food experience, the owner, the matriarch, is always there. She is so sweet, so kind, so friendly! Our family loves her! She is overseeing everything, having pride in her restaurant 's creations. Her son is a character, he is belting out music as he cooks with another chef back there. My son lived in Viterbo for a year, he went here many, many times over the course of the year. This is because this authentic, tasty food is also a great price! Six of us, two bottled of wine, desserts, three courses, coffee, desserts... two and half hours of amazing dining cost... 150 euro! Unbelievable!! Go here! The place is unassuming, the food is off the charts amazing."

Buon Servizio (cordiali e gentilissimi). Prezzo, ottimo. Anche se qualità non eccelsa. Se si è in tanti, senza grosse pretese, è consigliabile."

"Sembra impossibile che si possa spendere così poco per mangiare così bene ma in questo localino nel centro storico di Viterbo questa è realtà. E' molto alla buona ed è rimasto tutto fermo a quaranta anni fa, quando è stato aperto da due fratelli prima come rosticceria-pizzeria e poi anche come ristorante. Anche ora, che è gestito da uno dei due fratelli con la sua famiglia, fa molto tavola calda da come si presenta. Pochi tavoli con tovaglie di carta ed un menù sempre uguale, con piatti molto classici e tradizionali, oltre alla pizzeria. Certo l'ambiente non è un gran che esteticamente, ma è pulito e soprattutto si mangia molto bene e si spende molto poco se si ordina alla carta ma soprattutto se si sceglie il menù a prezzo fisso, con il quale si può mangiare a 13 euro per un primo un secondo un contorno ed una bevanda oppure 11 euro per un antipasto una pizza e bevanda e viene offerto anche un dolce. Tutto è molto buono, comprese le pizze, cucinato bene in modo casareccio e con materie prime di qualità. Pozioni molto abbondanti. La carbonara è semplicemente FANTASTICA (e con ciò rettifico quello che avevo scritto in un'altra recensione la prima volta che l'avevo assaggiata: forse l'avevo mangiata troppo in fretta e non l'avevo gustata come merita). Si viene serviti da un unico cameriere che è il figlio del titolare, molto cortese e svelto, che provvede anche a preparare il conto ed a servire al bar, Quando il locale è pieno c'è un po' da aspettare ma ne vale la pena. Se si è in più persone meglio prenotare. Consigliatissimo a chi non si formalizza e non tiene conto delle apparenze ma vuole soltanto mangiare bene spendendo poco. Per me ormai da anni è tappa fissa ogni volta che sono a Viterbo."

"Questo posto ha le possibilità di crescere e diventare grande, ma non è sfruttato a dovere. La location non è certamente delle migliori, un capannone industriale nella zona periferica della città. Dentro troviamo un arredamento simil-elegante, un pò cheap (di cattivo gusto). Il servizio è poco presente, la signora ce la mette tutta, ma non basta, è distratta, disattenta, nonostante ci fossimo solo noi nell'intero locale. Cosa accade quando arrivano 10 o 20 persone? Ma forse non sono abituati a questi numeri. Menu poco ampio (solo digitale, e mal fatto), alcune pietanze non sono presenti al momento dell'ordine. Abbiamo veramente poca scelta! Opzioniamo per due antipasti e la carne (tagliate). La qualità è buona, soprattutto quella della carne. I prezzi però sono veramente esorbitanti. Si arriva velocemente a pagare 30/40 euro a persona, con due soli piatti. Un posto ed un servizio del genere non si possono permettere questi prezzi, assolutamente. Manca cura ed attenzione verso il progetto, che forse dovrebbe puntare più ad una location per pranzi veloci (visto la zona piena di lavoratori), piuttosto che ad una cena simi-elegante un pò cheap. Peccato."
