"Ein tolles Hotel sehr nahe am Bahnhof Zermatt. Der Transfer vom Bahnhof zum Hotel und zurück ist inklusive. Das Essen im Hotel ist gut und auch das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig. Das Hallenbad ist ziemlich gross und war auch während der Coronazeit offen. Es gibt auch einen Saunabereich. Verblüfft hat uns, dass für unsere 1-jährige Tochter auch ein kleiner Bademantel im Schrank bereit war. Die Saunas sind zwar nicht so hoch geheizt. Auch in Zimmer war es die erste Nacht eher etwas kalt. Das Personal ist freundlich und gibt nett Auskunft, vor allem das Servicepersonal im Restaurant. Obwohl Lockdown im Wallis war, konnte als Hotelgast am Abend im Hotel gegessen werden. Check-out ist erst um 11:30 Uhr, somit konnte der letzte Tag angenehm gestartet werden."

"I never write reviews but I can’t contain my love for this restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious and authentically Italian and the atmosphere and vibe is so warm, joyful and energizing! I ate there 3 times during my stay in Zermatt and wish I ate there every night-nowhere else compared! The pizza and tiramisu were to die for and everyone of the waitstaff were so friendly!!! Sitting at the pizza bar was the best- even got a special sandwich made by the pizza chef himself"

"Der Rosstall ist wirklich ein top Fleisch Restaurant, wir hatten das Fondue Rosstall und es war super! Das Fleisch hatte top Qualität und auch die Beilagen inkl. Sossen waren alles sehr lecker.Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Weinauswahl war nicht riesig aber sehr sehr gut! Das Beste ist die Chefin, eine unterhaltsame und liebenswerte Person, sie hat sich so Zeit genommen um mit allen Gästen persönlich zu sprechen. Man merkt dass sie eine gebohrene Gastgeberin ist. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und werden bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Zermatt sicher wieder hier essen. Eine Reservierung ist sehr zum Empfehlen! Anders als in den meisten Restaurants in Zermatt, werden hier die Tische nur einmal pro Abend vermietet, das macht das Ganze zusätzlich noch viel entspannter!Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist super."

"Waitress was very attentive even though they don’t have a lot of gluten free options. They do offer gluten free buns and can substitute them for any sandwich or burger. Biggest downside is if you want a burger it will have to be a chicken burger. The ground beef is all pre-mixed with some gluten containing ingredients."

"We got wrong food, despite even point with finger in menu what we want to order. At the end got right one. Long waiting time ~40-60 minutes. But there was some lucky guy, who got order very fast, as was served our food, the one wrongly served. While waiting, saw bartender mixing beer with sparkling water : maybe this is some special Swiss recipe, ~20% was watter in the glass. Someone ordered two beers, the one from pump got mixed, the bottled one offcourse was not mixed, as was served in with botle. Apple strudel seemed like 2 days old, someone ordered, it was heated in microwave. And as the cherry on the cake, got umbrella stolen in rainy day, not a restaurants fault, just not lucky day "

"Gegen 14:00 Uhr kamen wir in Snowboat an und konnten es kaum erwarten, unser Mittagessen zu bestellen. Zuerst kommt der Walliser Burger mit 100% Schweizer Rindfleisch, knusprigem Beacon, Zwiebeln, Tomaten und sautierten Kartoffeln. Sehr saftig und lecker! Das andere Gericht ist Tortilla Chips Trio von Dips, sehr, sehr lecker und wir haben es so schnell zu Ende gebracht. Sehr entspannte Umgebung und freundliches Personal!"

"Nette Begrüssung, Essen gut mit ein paar negativen Details: Menu Surprise mit 4 Gängen für Fr.93. : 4 sehr kleine Portionen, z.B. gleiche Vorspeise wie aus der Karte mit genau 1/3 der Grösse. Man erfährt erst auf Nachfrage, was genau man erhalten hat. Sollte spontan mitgeteilt werden bei Menu Surprise. Deutlich zu teuer, für was geboten worden ist. Gemüsebeilage zu sehr feinem Hirschfleisch war oben heiss, unten aber noch gefroren. Auf Nachfrage kam das gleiche Gemüse nochmals, aber leider verkocht.Überteuerte Weinliste. Hatte einen koffeinfreien Kaffee bestellt. Dazu kamen spontan ein paar trockene Guezli. Verrechnet wurde aber Kaffee mit Friandises!Zu guter letzt: keine Verabschiedung, als wir gegangen sind. Wir haben noch geschaut und gewartet, aber niemand schien Zeit zu haben.Schade, aber hier gibt es viel Verbesserungspotential."

"Great food, poor service. First, let me say that I hate to write this review because we had an awesome dinner at Le Gitan, the sister restaurant next door, earlier in the week. So we had every expectation that tonight would be great at Zermatter Stubli. Unfortunately, the comments left by other reviewers about poor service from one particular waitress at this restaurant rang true for us tonight. Simply put, the waitress we had was rude and did not make us feel welcome. I could give multiple anecdotes but will just share a couple: 1) When we arrived, she claimed we didn’t have a reservation — though I pointed our name out to her in her reservation book — she then pointed to a table for us without showing us to the table. 2) Another party arrived after us and she had served them drinks before even bringing us menus. 3) We asked her to call us a taxi and she responded by handing us a business card — not helpful considering we don’t have Swiss mobile phones. It’s sad, because the restaurant is cute and the food great! But service is key to any experience and can make a good meal great or terrible. Unfortunately, the waitress really created a dark cloud during our dinner and I regret reserving here. If you try this place out, come for the food but beware of the risk of poor service from this particular waitress. With many good restaurant options in Zermatt and with many visitors having a limited time in the village, I suggest you prioritize other restaurants."

"Ich war mit meiner Freundin diese Woche im Poststübli bereits zum zweiten Mal essen (beim ersten Mal waren wir im Dezember 2019). Wir konnten ein paar Minuten vor der reservierten Zeit bereits an unseren Tisch sitzen, jedoch haben wir die Speisekarte erst nach längerem Warten erhalten. Die Service Mitarbeiter machten allgemein einen unorganisierten Eindruck. Als wir bspw. die Bestellung aufgeben wollten, kamen direkt neue Gäste ins Restaurant und die Service Mitarbeiterin hat sich von uns gewandt und die neuen Gäste priorisiert. Das Essen war grundsätzlich gut, wir haben einen Zermatter Teller bestellt, was ausgezeichnet war sowie Älplermagronen und Schweizer Rösti mit Kalbsgeschnetzeltem. Beim Kalbsgeschnetzeltem gab es Dosenpilze, die etwas säuerlich schmeckten. Für CHF 42. hätte ich richtige Pilze erwartet. Ansonsten war dieses Gericht sehr gut und daher schade, dass bei solchen Zutaten gespart wird. Wir hatten dennoch einen schönen Abend und das Personal war grundsätzlich stets freundlich."

"The food (pasta) was okay, unfortunately that was all that was positive to report. Completely overwhelmed staff, who show this off and frantically shout and run, nipping any sense of hospitality in the bud. Guys, if there 's too much, just reduce the number of seats! Despite free tables, we were seated directly opposite the salad buffet, where guests and hectic employees were constantly sticking their worst parts in our faces. Well then, enjoy your meal. The height of unfriendliness was the half empty outdoor area, which was intended only for groups (no signs or instructions available). Guests who dared to sit there but didn 't belong to an illustrious group were regularly chased from the place by an angry patrolling employee. We have spent many vacations in Switzerland, but we have never experienced such inhospitable chaos as this restaurant . Thanks for a dirty day of vacation. Absolutely unworthy of a destination like Zermatt."

"If you are in Zermatt, whether summer or winter, Restaurant Du Pont is a MUST! I believe it's the oldest restaurant in Zermatt and it shows - the inside is very cozy with older photos and materials strung around the restaurant. The upstairs is very quaint! Once you open the door you KNOW you are in a place that knows cheese! So you must order something with cheese at this restaurant :) I've had the Kase Fondue (cheese fondue) including the one with mushrooms, herbs and plain - I loved all of them but the herb one was the best. They give you Fondue for one and it is actually enough for two!I've also had the Käseschnitte - the Swiss family I was with always gets this as I think it's also a real typical Swiss dish. As an American this was a new and delicious dish to me (think American grilled cheese, but with much better cheese and served open-face).I also tried the Raclette once before too, also good but I think you should stick to Fondue or Käseschnitte! The Fondue is Wallis style so it comes with boiled potatoes instead of bread - if you want bread instead let them know (or if you want bread in addition to the potatoes, the potatoes are a bit too heavy for me).What I would recommend is to get Fondue for One to share between Two and then get one Käseschnitte to share among Two. You will be FULL and HAPPY! PS: I can eat a lot, for a normal person just sharing the Fondue for One might be enough but... the Käseschnitte...;)"

"we stumbled on this restaurant by pure chance (ok the beautiful cozy looking veranda at the entrance helped! . the staff was courteous and friendly, made the best tee I had in years to reveal their own mix! we had no reservation and they made space. for us. Oh, I'm glad we chose this place. the fondue is to die and the meat is served on hot plate. delicious! I highly recommend it. oh and special mention for alexa and the owner, the personality checked on each table so that everyone leaves with a big smile on the face! until next winter <3"

"Wenn man zur Zeit in der Schweiz Urlaub macht, dann muss man sich darüber klar sein, dass es viel Geld kostet. Das ist hier nicht anders. Wir hatten einen sehr leckeren Vorspeisenteller den wir uns geteilt haben und dann Käsefondue und Steak. Beides sehr schmackhaft. Dazu eine Flasche Wein, die immerhin 5 Euro günstiger war als beim Nachbarn. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einzig die Idee des Inhabers, wenn man mit Euro bezahlen möchte diese 1:1 in Franken umzurechnen mutet doch etwas seltsam an. Also bezahlten wir mit Karte."

"Meine Eltern und ich kamen gegen Mittag in Zermatt an, eine schreckliche Zeit, als alle Reisegruppen ankamen und sich auf den Weg zur Gornergratbahn machten. Die Linien waren 40 tief. Aber Mama wurde von der Zugfahrt nach Bern Zermatt (mit einer Haltestelle zum Umsteigen in Visp) abgewischt, damit wir nicht zu weit nach einem gemütlichen Restaurant mit Zermatt Thema suchen mussten.Mein Blick fiel sofort auf das Bahnhofbuffet Non Solo Treno, das auf den ersten Blick wie ein typischer touristisch geprägter Pizzaplatz mit zynischem Herz aussieht. Es stellte sich heraus, dass es gut zum Mittagessen war. Wir saßen draußen es war ein wunderschöner Tag und anders als in New York, wo Sie wahrscheinlich einen NYU Studenten als Server in einem italienischen Restaurant haben, waren unsere Server alle Italiani. Und sprach Italienisch.Sie waren beschäftigt (es war Mittag), die Kellner waren leicht zu melden und die Lieferung des Essens war prompt. Mama hatte Cannelloni perfekt zum Warten und Papa und ich hatten Kalbfleisch mit Rsti. Die Wurst wurde in einer köstlichen braunen Bratensoße serviert vielleicht Kalbshackfleisch, aber ich glaube, es war nur eine reduzierte Rindfleischsoße. Wie dem auch sei, es war köstlich und es war wirklich gut im Brot. Man könnte meinen, es sei zu schwer für den Sommer, aber in den Bergen sind alle Rippchen Optionen willkommen.Bahnhoffbuffet Non Solo Treno war günstig, erstaunlich für die Schweiz, noch erstaunlicher für einen Ort in der Nähe des Bahnhofs.Es ist tierfreundlich: Kellner brachten Wassernäpfe für begleitende Hunde heraus.Am Ende des Mittagessens waren die Schlangen an der Gornergrat Station auf der anderen Straßenseite viel kürzer. Mission erfüllt: Voll besetzt, muss nicht warten.Warum also drei Sterne? Weil es nicht gut ist Essen. Ist es ein hervorragendes Beispiel für eine schnelle, praktische und schmackhafte Küche? Fünf Sterne in dieser Kategorie. Aber TripAdvisor lässt diese Unterscheidungen nicht zu. Also drei Sterne."

"TL:DR. The food is great, and an easy recommendation to stop by and eat! I came here for dinner. They seems to have the restaurant sectioned off depending on what kind of food you want. Grilled on one side, fondue in another. The waiter was pretty helpful in wine choices, and placed in my food order pretty quickly as well. I was sat in front of the fire pit area, so it was very entertaining seeing the food being made as it comes along with both mine, and everyone else's. The food tasted great, and from looking at everyone else's plate, i don't think you can make a bad choice with the options they have! Dessert was also good. Overall a fine experience. The food can get a bit pricey, but the taste does reflect it! Well worth it."

"Visited this restaurant while in Zermat recently. My wife eats very little and I asked whether she could choose from the children's menu which was confirmed ok on arrival. We sat down and placed our order after some wait, then another waiter returned stating she could not have the child's menu but she could have a small portion of spag bol. So we ordered reluctantly. Service took ages and when our food arrived my food was barely tepid, as was the case with a chap on the next table, so we both complained. After another long wait the reheated food was delivered and was just about alright. My wife ate less than half of hers as anticipated but on the bill we were charged for a full portion. I complained to the manager, but he simply walked off leaving a young waitress to sort the matter. I eventually negotiated a reduction but this was still too much. Appalling and slow service, less than average food, overpriced, avoid, there are far better places in Zermat."

"Ich war vor einigen Jahren schon mal in diesem Restaurant und hatte es in guter Erinnerung.Wir kamen spontan an einem Dienstagabend und hatten Glück, dass wir einen Tisch bekamen. Viele nach uns wurden weggeschickt, weil alles voll war, also besser vorher reservierenDas Essen hat uns gut geschmeckt, der Service war sehr flink und jeder, der dort arbeitet sieht, was es zu tun gibt! Keiner läuft 10 mal beim Tisch vorbei und macht nichts, nur weil es nicht „sein“ Tisch ist. Auch die Jungs, die unten am Empfang stehen und die Gäste zum Tisch begleiten, räumen im vorbeigehen mal noch den Tisch ab oder helfen einem Kollegen beim Service.Die Kellner sind gute Verkäufer und haben immer einen flotten Spruch drauf.Da uns auch das Ambiente sehr gefallen hat, kamen wir 2 Tage später noch einmal. Diesmal mit Reservierung. Wir wurden wieder sehr freundlich und flott bedient und auch das Essen war wunderbar. Beim nächsten Besuch in Zermatt kommen wir gerne wieder und wir werden das Restaurant auch gerne weiter empfehlen"

"das Restaurant Ried liegt an allerbester Lage und Aussicht auf der Talabfahrt. Diese lohnt sich aber schon zum Zmittag/Mittagessen. Man folgt also ab der Sessellift Talstation Patroularve der Piste rechts bis auf den Weg, und schon ist man da. Uns wurde ein sehr schönes Tatar, resp. frische Pasta an superber Sauce (da ich keinen Lachs mit Pasta mag, bekam ich Schinkenwürfeli) kredenzt….der Heida zum Apéro war süffig, der Johannisberg ebenso….auch der Rotwein im Offenausschank danach liess keine Wünsche offen….so konnte uns Patron Claudio verführen zu einem Tiramisu und einem Zwetschgentöpfli zum Nachtisch….wunderherzig kredenzt…sowas tut der schlechtwetter-geschundenen Seele gut; ABER, wer nun denkt, das Lokal sei nur dann ein Trumpf, der irrt….auch bei Sonnenschein lässt es sich dort auf der Terrasse gut aushalten, vom Aprés-Ski ganz zu schweigen….die Piste rechts nehmen….denkt daran!"

"This is a restaurant to try while walking on the streets of Zermatt. Initially we were quite bummed with the rule of 1 main course dish per head. Generally, our kids cannot finish one whole meal. We were 2 adults and 2 kids under age 12. Anyway we sat to order and tried our best to order 1 dish per head. We were happy that the food was yum. We ordered a kid meal just because we had to. It was wasted and we took it home. The other dishes like sirloin steak, cheese fondue and spaghetti cream with egg and bacon were yummmy!!! Whatever was left, we took back with us as we do not like to waste food. They had shawls kept for use on the chairs outside due to the cold. This was a very unique concept and good thought we had never seen before and were quite impressed with it. I would've given a 5 star for the restaurant but I believe that their one meal per head rule either forces one to eat more than they can or forces one to waste food. Neither sits right with me."
