"Have been to The Granville many times but not recently, decided to go again as we were staying in Canterbury and the food was always very good. This time we were sadly very disappointed. We started with ham croquettes which were very small, there were three of them for £7.50. Not good value but they tasted nice, so far not too bad. I chose 'catch of the day ' fish for my main course as it was whole pan fried plaice. What appeared on my plate was a horror show, a small black plaice with no floured coating, the head still attached but folded horribly, a big chunk cut away which I assumed was the gut, it looked completely unappealing. It was so small it should have been thrown back in the sea for growing a bit more. There was barely any flesh on it but the taste was OK as it was a freshly caught fish but the presentation was disgusting. My partner chose lamb which tasted OK but again, presented very badly. The shared dessert was a chocolate mousse with ice cream, the chocolate concoction was so solid it seemed almost like it been taken from a freezer. The Granville has gone down dramatically in my estimation, I doubt we 'll go again."
