"My first afternoon tea at Oakley Court about three years ago was wonderful. I took my Mum and she enjoyed all the quirky refinements that came with the experience i.e. quirky tea cosy. The next time, a couple of years ago, the refinements were no longer there, and this last experience on Saturday December was not special at all. There was little or no ambience, the sandwiches tasted like they had been prepared some hours before our visit, the cakes were tasteless and lacking in variety and, whilst the scones were served warm, they were dry and also tasteless. The raspberry jam was also very runny and not like a preserve at all. I am not a tea drinker, but the friends I was with are. They were served a couple of pots of tea each, so were able to keep refilling their cups. I asked for hot chocolate and was brought one small cup of my requested beverage, which was tepid at best. I was not offered another cup, so had to attract the attention of a waitress to request a pot of hot chocolate so I too had the opportunity of refilling my cup. Again, the hot chocolate was served only just warm and went cold very quickly. I feel very sad that Afternoon Tea at Oakley Court is no longer the treat it used to be, especially as the hotel is set in such a lovely location. It is certainly extremely overpriced for what you get and I have no plans to return for afternoon tea again in the future."

"The ‘big bagel’ was nice enough as were the chips. Sweet friendly waitress. Please do not order the nachos-they are flavourless and in my opinion the tortilla chips a little stale. Was a little hard work trying to get someone’s attention for the bill. I think they could do with one more member of staff to keep things running more smoothly eg clearing tables, wiping down seats and supplying the bill more promptly. I voiced my opinion at the time re the nachos but was met with a vacant stare and a ‘no ones ever complained about them before ‘. They bizarrely offered to take 10% off the cost of the nachos. A more commercially savvy response would have been ‘so sorry you didn’t like the nachos Ill take them off the bill as you’ve barely touched them. Hope to see you again next time’ There’s lots of competition in the area who in my opinion offer waaay better service. I believe the owner was behind the counter at the time who took no ownership of the situation-that was a shame but hey ho that’s why some businesses succeed and others don’t stand the test of time."

"I am very surprised at some of the reviews here or maybe I live on another planet! Possibly the best Italian I have had in London! Really good. Small restaurant in Hampstead, limited tables which are very close together. I went for a very late lunch at 15:30 on a Sunday afternoon which was a good idea as it was much quieter then. Staff were super friendly. Service was very efficient. Lovely cosy and homely! Felt like being back in Italy. Big selection on the menu from pizza to pasta, meat, fish, desserts and more. I went with the angel hair pasta with, olive oil, garlic, chilli, king prawns, cherry tomato and courgettes. Divine beyond words! Generous in portion size, tasty, well presented, freshly made and each mouthful was a delight. So good. I had a soft drink with it. I don't drink alcohol but they have an extensive wine menu too. I gladly polished off my lunch. Clean restaurant. Nice atmosphere and delicious lunch. Reasonably priced for the area. Highly recommend."

"The salt-beef sandwich at this cozy café is simply divine, with its thick, warm slices of meat, tangy mustard, and light rye bread. The side of cole slaw is the perfect addition. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly."

"I've been here several times. I had another experience every time. it is a busy business restaurant that has been popular since the day of its opening. my family and I went to lunch on Sunday. the restaurant was busy and loud! we were placed next to the open kitchen. we got menus and stayed there. after a night we asked if we could order a drink! we have fired! we have made our choice, the waiter came and my poor mother had a hard time to order. everything she wanted, she hadn't had it anymore! I found that unacceptable when a restaurant from certain elements on the menu, laughs, huh to name some, they should be given at the arrival when they give their menu. but the...read more"

"Had been here a few times before and we always liked coming for lunch as it was a lovely vibe and food was delicious. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience this time on my partners birthday, they didn’t have our table ready and then we got put in the forgotten corner and we had to go and ask twice for someone to take our order and then it took a while for the food to come and when it came they brought out the wrong items and the food was quite bland and small portions not worth the money."

"I was completely shocked by the rude staff at this restaurant. They showed little respect to each other, let alone to me, a paying customer. Each staff member seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly. When I asked for a portion of fish balls (which was listed on the menu above the counter), I was told there were no portions and to just decide what I wanted. I was then directed to another staff member at the kiosk, who did not engage with me and instead asked her colleague, "Who's this for?" when referring to my order of fish balls. The lady next to me requested a selection of pastries, explaining that she was having friends over and would like a variety. The server responded rudely, demanding to know exactly how many pastries she wanted. The customer, clearly taken aback by the abrupt response, said that she only needed four. The server then remarked that four was not a selection. I was appalled by the lack of communication skills and customer service exhibited by the staff. It is unfortunate that the staff seem friendly to "regulars," as my family frequents this restaurant often, but as a first-time customer, I experienced their true attitude. Needless to say, neither I nor my family will be returning to a place with such unnecessarily rude staff."

"I really wanted to give the restaurant 5 stars and up until dessert, I would have done so. The restaurant interior is dated and could do with some updated furnishings but the quality of the food makes up for it. Everything we had was lovely. Unfortunately, the speed of the service really let them down. We had to ask for the check 3 times in a span of 30 minutes and finally had to get up and approach the counter in order to pay. I hope this was an off day for them but, I will hesitate to return in future. Such a shame."

"a terrible experience. I recently went to this restaurant for dinner with friends, we had not booked, so asked whether they had a table available and told them that they, but it was down, which was good. /we were pleasantly surprised by the small but it room and bare. if we had settled in a broth basket, three pieces were white bread and three pieces very small brown bread the ordered starter dishes included deepthroat fried mozzarella not fresh, pasta with Ragu light on the Ragu sauce, and the special smoked cheese that was in order, but the tomato tasted as they were for a dam. supplements of spinach, kartoffel and zucchini fritte, where fairly average./ two deserts were ordered and tasted as if they were not prepared or made before site. tiramisu and a chocolate cake. each decent Italian cook would be ashamed to offer such frightening./ we asked for the bill that really needed an old to come three times we asked. as soon as we have received them, we complain about the above mentioned and have been said that the bill was the bill so that no supplement would be made./ the owners of this restaurant visits it naturally rarely and there never. for which we dinate at ricardo on the fulham rd, scalini and ziani al, which were again recommending in price, but offer a much better experience that would not be visited"

"We stopped in Richmond for a stroll and bite before returning to our hotel in Teddington. My colleagues had their fill of English pub food so they opted for Italian. And Pizzeria Rustica was the first we came across. We were able to get a...table despite many bookings. We just needed to vacate by a certain time. We had lovely service. We grazed on fresh baked bread (still warm) and olives. My colleagues had a penne pasta dish and I had their rustica pizza. No red sauce. Tomato. Kalamata olives. Spinach. Cheese. Napoletana-style. Nicely executed. A side salad with rocket and parm was delish. Plentiful. Leftovers. No shortage of food choices in Richmond. You will not be disappointed if you choose Pizzeria Rustica."

"Great restaurant, tasty food and nice atmosphere. it gives only four stars and not a stove because even though dinner was ordered when booking a table about a month earlier, we had to wait a long time for meals. In fact, most of the meals did not come fully warm and with mine the hot potatoes were cold. However, I have to admit that the pork knuckle was delicious, I like cured meat, tasty potatoes and red cabbage and delicious sauce. Our whole group, of us, was very pleased with the food. Well presented and tasty. As for the center of Glasgow, it was not terribly expensive and the music served to us was nice. It is a pity that we had to finish the party because the time of our table reservation was coming to an end and the number of guests in the restaurant did not decrease. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. We had a great time."

"Dubberley Delicious is a private fine dining experience for up to 10 people. Our party of 3 agreed the menu in advance with the chef patron, Jack Dubberley, and we weren't disappointed on the day. All dietary requirements for our 5-course lunch had been catered for and everything was excellent from start to finish. We were visiting from Oxfordshire and only wish we lived nearer! I am sure we will return."

"Serving staff and hosting was first class: Friendly, prompt and attentive. However, the food rather disappointed. The curry wurst was made with a tasty sauce but contained very little of a rather bland sausage. The meal really amounted to a plate of chips covered with a curry sauce. More like street food than a restaurant offering; an average one at that. The wine list was heavily biased toward expensive offerings but we found one at £24. It was very, very average. Unusual in restaurants these days, where the wine offerings have improved considerably over the last few years. My partner’s chicken schnitzel was “edible” in her words; with a small amount of an admittedly tasty sauce. This was accompanied by small quantity of salad, with a basic dressing of oil. My desert of Apple strudel was spoiled by being served with a small pot of very ordinary custard, served luke warm. Perhaps ask chef to check out Lidl’s vanilla custard to find out what custard should taste like? The strudel was good though. Overall, a very average experience at an impressive looking venue well placed for after game dining. Please do better Haugen; shan’t be returning until there is evidence that you have upped your game."
