Such was the situation I found myself in last night as I entered the newly opened and charmingly fun Smith Whistle at the Park Lane Hotel. Billing itself as your new Mayfair local , the slogan fits. It 's in as refined a neighbourhood as London can offer but the atmosphere was relaxed and cheeky.
