"Went there for the 3rd or 4th time the other day. Have previously enjoyed it but this time, far too much up-selling by the waitress. She verbally frowned on my choice of the 4 x 85 gram steak sampler as opposed to the more expensive 100 gram selection she wanted me to have. Then I was advised that my choice of their (cheapest) wine, a tempranillo for £20 was too thin to accompany steaks properly this might be so but surely my decision and one I shouldn't be embarrased into changing in order to spend more. The final insult was when I found that the 3 small complimentary glasses of wine we had been given to start with (as our table wasn't ready) had actually been added to the bill at a cost of just under £30 unbelievable. Add in the (discretionary) 12 and a half percent tip added to the bill (another £20) and you are left feeling ripped off for a meal, main course only and a single bottle of wine cost £170 for 3 people. The £10 gratuity I did give I still regret after the service I experienced and sorry, good food yes, but it was an unpleasant experience I won't repeat. It just seems to be all about getting as much cash out of you as possible nowadays."
