"a venerable service, avoid. long waiting times and poor service. I had a terrible experience during the covid with ridiculously long wait for every service and it repeated on Sunday. it took 30 minutes to get any drinks, with slow, unenchanted service and an hour in our table we had no food on the table including the breadboard starter! unfortunately we decided to cancel our order and go and finally cook ourselves a roast home. there were a series of employees who were just talking around, while many tables were waiting for an obvious sign of worse training! we were a table of 6, which would have come to a healthy bill at the end. the waiter did not seem to be worried that we decided to go, and not even come to the table to apologize for our experience. I am incredibly disappointed that this pub has failed to conquer any type of service or training for its employees, and it is a real shame as it could be a beautiful land pub with good eating. sad I will not return to this pub again. for the money they charge, it should be at least decent service. very disappointed and a waste of my Sunday afternoon afternoon."
