"I was surprised to see two duck dishes on the menu instead of one featuring venison. I did need to send my partridge back because it was cooked rarer than I prefer, but they quickly resolved the issue by providing a properly cooked replacement without using a microwave, which was a big plus! The Argentinian Malbec from 2018 was also excellent—smooth and not acidic at all.
As for the atmosphere, I would rate it a 3 since the restaurant was less than half full, making it fairly quiet. The service was a 4; the food came out quickly, though the gap between the first and second courses felt a bit rushed. One of the waitresses accidentally spilled some wine on the table cover but was very apologetic about it. The music, room, and decor felt quite dated.
On a positive note, all the waitresses and the manager were incredibly friendly and hospitable, making for a brilliant experience with top-notch British cuisine. (For detailed food descriptions, see each photo.)
