"The staff was excellent, and the wine and whiskey were quite good. However, the food was just average. I started with the pigeon; the menu mentioned breast and wing, so I expected one of each, but I received four wings that were tough and had so little meat that they wouldn’t have satisfied a pigeon, especially for £14. On the plus side, the black pudding was enjoyable. The main courses were alright, but nothing worth raving about."

"We went on Mothers day which we know is a particularly time and feel that sitting down and no one coming over for 15 minutes was poor. we went and got a waiter to be asked what we wanted to order when he came over. we had no menus and no drinks. These were ordered and although took a while did not mind. We waited over a hour and a half for our food and then was told that there had been a mix up. we got the 7 meals of which all were warm not hot. We sent 3 back and they took away a steak which never came back The 3 dinners came back as they left just being put in the microwave which then made the beef not edible. We only really had 2 good dinners out the 7 and to be fair we only paid for 2. considering the restaurant was not full up the service was shocking and the quality of the dinners was really poor. Would not recommend at all ?? at the end no one even appologised, poor customer service"

"I visited The Quays for the first time, and it definitely won’t be my last. I usually dine at another restaurant near the harbor, but The Quays surpasses it in every aspect of the dining experience. "We had booked a table for 6.15pm for 5 adults but had a catalogue of errors! With an establishment like this you would expect a decent menu but no, we got a menu on a sheet of paper, we even asked if this was the only menu to be told that was the only menu! You would get this type of menu in a high street cafe, very limited choice. Firstly we had lipstick on a wine glass, then the lemonade had a strange taste to be told when we complained that they had an issue with the lemonade (so why serve it? The pepper condiment had liquid come out of it when we tried to add to the soup, when complained, the rest of the party had finished their starters, when the manager came over to clear the table we had to say that one of the party hadnt been given her starter, the replacement soup! After asking the staff twice when our main course would be served, it arrived at 7.55pm! The first 2 meals were brought out but by the time the other 3 were brought out, the first 2 were half way through theirs. For an establishment like this to have such bad service is unbelievable. This was our first visit but will definitely not be back. Very dissappointed indeed."

"Food was amazing as usual. Service really let it down this visit. There was not one thing we didn’t have to ask for. Had to ask for kids menu, sat for about 15 minutes with no one coming over, had to ask for them to take our order, baring in mind there was multiple staff stood around. Kids meal meant to come with tortilla chips that never came, they ordered ice cream each for dessert and it came in the same bowl? Not ideal for a 2 year old and a 7 year old, so ended up putting one on a plate. There was nothing major wrong, just very reactive staff rather than proactive. When 10% of the bill is service charge you expect at least average service"

Had a delicious meal and can highly recommend both the sea bass with Bombay potatoes and mango salsa or the Arrancini (mozzarella wrapped in risotto rice) flippin’ gorgeous. "Once inside, you can choose to sit at a regular table or in a low seating area surrounded by plush cushions, which I highly recommend. The restaurant was quite empty when we visited, with only two other patrons, yet it felt peaceful and inviting—a calming experience enhanced by the journey through the narrow corridor. We started with Turkish coffee, which tasted like a lighter version of espresso. For appetizers, we ordered icli kofte, and I have to say it was truly amazing—crispy and fresh with a perfect balance of flavors, and the taste of the lamb was exceptional. For the main course, we tried besh barmak, and it was absolutely delicious! The broth was well-balanced, and the delicate beef was served with a pasta that was reminiscent of lasagna. It was simply outstanding. We also ordered a chicken alaturka, which was good but didn’t quite measure up to the previous dish. From the grill, we had the adana shashlik, which was underwhelming. To finish, we ordered black tea served with chak chak, which complemented the tea wonderfully and left us feeling very satisfied. The portions were generous, and the flavors were harmoniously balanced. The most remarkable aspect of the restaurant was its ambiance; it felt so much like home that we ended up staying for four hours without wanting to leave. Our server was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, happy to discuss the food and the restaurant with us. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!"

"The positives are it’s a quint pub and the roast was well cooked. The negatives are that the service was poor very young staff seemed to enjoy chatting behind the bar rather than serving, consequently all our roasts took ages to arrive and were luke warm. Equally the desert rhubarb crumble was Luke warm and the rhubarb was not properly cooked. Could it have lived up to the earlier reviews? My answer is probably yes, but would I go go there again, that’s a hard one to answer, but probably not. Why because standards are normally ingrained and it shouldn’t be hit or miss. "my partner and I stayed here in the week to use a voucher that I had on another place for the afternoon tee; but stay in this hotel ended the main feature of the visit. we were in the octagonal room that has a big wow factor that were amazing, but so was the room together with it's luxury features. the staff was very friendly and helpful, we had to drop our bags long before check-in and leave them for a series of hours after check-out, but that was certainly not a problem for the staff. we decided to have the breakfast after we have seen the reviews online and it was certainly not disappointing, the waitress offered hot drinks regularly and the buffet was constantly refreshed, so I would recommend this as part of their stay. overall this was an excellent hotel, great location with wonderful staff and in mind that it was amazing value for money. If they don't stay here, they'll lose!"

In all we were there for just over 4 hours and are definitely going to return for our next get together at the beginning of September. Restaurant wasn’t full which allowed us lots of time to relax. "As part of a group(around 30 people)who had booked a number of separate tables for lunch(at staggered times as required by the Opentable website), we clearly weren’t expected as the one member of staff on duty when we arrived had to call a colleague to come in to work early to assist, and whilst they did their very best to look after us, the result was that many of us waited over an hour for our food, which in most cases was tepid at best, and arrived well after some of our party had finished their meals. This was certainly not the experience portrayed by the Cue Point website, and so unfortunately we cannot recommend."

"Booked a three course meal via wowcher , were seated in an extension of the pub with interiors which didn’t really match up with the rest of the hotel. Ordered a burger for kids which was not a part of the set meal which came in approx 20 mins which was a good thing . The burger was probably good they ate it all. We receive the salad as starters fairly quick , supposed to be grill mixed veg starters , poor wife only had leaves no trace of any grilled veg don’t think I specified she had any allergy to grilled veg , I Had the grilled veg plus the leaves So was ok. The main course came exactly in 1 hour and 15 mins from time of ordering . Wife said her chicken was ok my pork belly was extremely dry luckily had a whole bottle of Prosecco as part of the meal which made It much easier . Absolutely no flavour or taste usually I really enjoy anything when I am starving , but not this time. Didn’t really think was worth waiting for the third course, lemon sorbet which was part of the set meals for another hour in a dining spot with poor ambience . So left without the third course, the waiter was kind enough to not charge for the burger and the sparkling water which was an extra you go to restaurants for experience the deal itself was cheap but definitely the worst meal I have ever had in my whole life in a restaurant . Didn’t really expect this from Hyatt, they could rather charge a bit more and keep up the minimum expectation . There were only two waiters managing whole of the pub, both were extremely polite ."
