"After a visit to the cinema with friends i decided to choose The Hudson for a late Sunday lunch. The reasons for doing so were twofold. One the last time we were there was pre pandemic and the other one of our party is vegetarian...and the menu on line gave a couple of choices which is much better than some places. On arrival we were given a choice of tables and whilst choosing drinks and food we were offered and accepted a jug of tap water. We choose our drinks which were delivered quickly and the food order was taken by a very friendly and bubbly waitress who helped to make the experience really fun. The portions were very generous and the vegetables very fresh and cooked to perfection. Apparently the vegetarian Thai curry was also very tasty. We would have loved a desert but were all full so we took a break before finishing with another drink. Overall the experience was really good and the staff were all very friendly and engaging. The place is very well appointed and quiet allowing you to have and hear conversations you have at the table, Worth a visit."

"While prices have increased a bit since my last visit, the service and quality at this restaurant are still top-notch. The attentive and friendly staff does a great job of serving without intruding on your meal. "We booked a table for 4 (2 adults and 2 children) for a birthday meal, and have to say it was one of the best meals we have ever had. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and taken straight to our table. Service was impeccable, attentive but not overly intrusive. Orders were taken promptly and drinks arrived very quickly, with a superb bottle of Malbec for the adults. Starters came soon after, which were delicious bbq ribs, bbq wings, king prawns and garlic mushrooms, all got polished off. Mains came soon after starters were cleared, rib eye steak, black Angus fillet steak, fillet steak on hot stone and veggie burger. All were cooked to perfection, were possibly the best steaks we've ever had and were finished off completely, even though the steaks were considerable in size, the children couldn't get enough of theirs and ate the lot. 2 puddings for the children, and a post dinner cocktail for one of the adults. Lovely and helpful waiting staff, cosy and warm ambience made it very special. Will definitely be back. Thank you"

"Booked for NYE. When we turned up we were told there was no beef only chicken. At 8:30 on NYE you are stuck with nowhere else to go ! It’s very bad to have run out of the main product your business is basically promoting. Bad forecasting and management. Also 2 of the starters were also not available and gin served in a wine glass ??? Food is ok, but I do think we should have been given at least a discount or free drink due to the lack of Beef !! The whole pay before you eat at the bar cheapens the experience and makes it similar to eating at a Burger King now, plus staff can no longer receive tips. Was a great place when it opened but standards have really slipped sadly. Come on guys pull your socks up !!!! Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2"

"I cannot comment on how the restaurant was as in the end we did not go there as there was no availability on the date we booked. Your site indicated that there was. As we were. A large group and coming in from Canada I had wanted to be certain on the booking so I called the restaurant and not only did they not have any record of the reservation from Open Table they also advised they were full that evening for a very large group booking. Please check your process on connecting to the restaurants as had I not called we would have headed there thinking we had a table and find out we did not. Given where it is located would have alos proved a very large issue as there is not a lot of alternatives in the area"

"Friend of mine staying here right now and is scared! She just had 3 men knock on her door there’s no peep hole to check who it is, no door stopper to close the door so it won’t fully open. She was terrified as they tried to speak to her and luckily her instinct to shut the door kicked in otherwise who knows where that could have went. No one has picked up at reception/front desk and she is terrified and will be up all night making sure nothing happens to her ready to dial the police if someone knocks again. This is totally unacceptable, they need security or other security measures in place to avoid this."

"I ordered delivery from this restaurant and unfortunately, it was a bad experience. The pizza we received was mostly just pepperoni with a few dried out burnt chicken pieces. There was very little cheese and sauce, leaving the base visible in some places. The nachos were overly sweet due to an excessive amount of sugar in the guacamole, and the sour cream tasted more like whipped cream. The carbonara was oily and lacked flavor, making it unpleasant to eat. The only decent item was the fries, but it's hard to go wrong with adding Parmesan to chips. Despite trying to finish our meal, we ended up with almost three full boxes of uneaten food from our £40 order. It was a disappointing meal and not worth the money."
