"After a feast of meat at Xmas what better way to kick start the New Year than with a Baked Dover Sole at The Gate with green beans and dauphinoise potatoes with a small pot of Tartare Sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection , so succulent and fell of the bone easily enabling you to easily digest the white fish. The Bread Board contained warm bread that smelled and tasted as if a Bakery was operating next to the Kitchen as it was that fresh. A delicious light dish accompanied by a large glass of crisp Chardonnay a perfect match for a very enjoyable evening. If you want cheering up after the tales of woe emanating from 24/7 news of doom and gloom re pandemic , our politicians behaving like children and Mr Putin threatening World Peace in view of the possibility of Russia invading Ukraine then go to The Gate where you will receive quality cooking at very reasonable prices.
