"My wife and I had a child free day so took the opportunity to go for an afternoon tea. We selected a veggie afternoon tea in advance turns out we should have selected a Brooklyn afternoon tea (it turns out there is more than one veggie afternoon tea, although there is only one displayed on the menu on OpenTable) After finally sorting out the right afternoon tea (by the waiter who was great and helpful) we finally got what we booked forâ¦although it wasnât quite as good as we hoped for per head It was certainly looked greatâ¦but to be honest the food was just ok. The sandwiches were different but yet somehow tasted all the same. The cakes were good and moist. The drinks were fine but nothing mind blowing. The main issue we had was with the Scones (arguably the most important part of an afternoon tea) The scones were small, dry and rock hard. Cardboard in flavour. A real disappointment. Itâs a real shame cause with some fine tuning and a bit more care and attention they could get something really special that people would talk about. Overall it wasnât a bad experience and the waiter really tried hard to fix as much as he could. He kind of saved the lunch."
