"The waitstaff are constantly going up and down the stairs, so it’s always a bit unpredictable whether they’ll be available to serve you upstairs. It would be helpful if they had a system to keep track of what customers need, as we waited about 15 minutes to place our order when it was quite empty upstairs. "I wanted an iced frappe or a milkshake, so I decided to try this restaurant with a large menu. I prefer to support independent businesses, so I chose to get a milkshake. I opted for a simple one and was a bit disappointed when it arrived in a paper cup for £3.40. It was decent, frothy, and milky, but I couldn't really taste the flavor. Overall, I left feeling like I should have gone to Starbucks instead."

"This was my second visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the first visit was better than the second. The wrong burger was brought out initially, but a replacement was given along with extra fries. We were overcharged when we were leaving, but the mistake was rectified and a refund was given on my card. We had to pay a £5 deposit per person to book their bottomless breakfast/brunch, but this was refunded in cash when we paid. The drinks listed are only bottomless. The French toast breakfast was much larger than expected, and my friend struggled to finish it. Overall, my previous visit during the summer had gone smoothly. Parking was limited, but we didn't have an issue finding a spot as it was quiet when we visited."

"AVOID SAGE AT ALL COSTS. I rarely write reviews but had to make an exception for this place, for the sake of sparing others the experience we had. Where do I begin? Arrived at the “restaurant” (if you can call it that and staff were nowhere to be seen. Restaurant has a somewhat ‘eery’ feel to it with such strange decor. Took around 20 minutes until manager finally brought out the menu. After ordering was told several items missing. Food took a long time to arrive and when it did was given to the WRONG TABLE (HELLO COVID?! . Manager took plates downstairs to kitchen for a few minutes before bringing them back out to our table? (Now might be a good time to mention that the customer toilets are literally in the kitchen weird? Food was poor. Advertised as Beyond Meat burger but they brought out the much cheaper Moving Mountains burger was still charged the same extortionate £13.95 for this. … the other half of our order never arrived. At this point we were feeling pretty upset with the service so requested the bill. Manager brought out a handwritten note with various prices on it (these did not match up with the advertised prices on both the menu and the Deliveroo app . Manager informed us at the end of our meal that the card machine is out of service and told me to drive several minutes to the nearest ATM. Manager then changed his mind and told us to pay via the Deliveroo app, with the knowledge that this adds an additional service charge. Manager proceeded to stand behind/lean over my partner and take her phone out of her hands. He was adamant that we didn’t know what we were doing and behaved in a very intimidating manner. I asked the manager if I could speak to him in private away from the customers. I explained that we were unhappy with the service we had received by referring to the several points mentioned above. Myself a vegan of 6 years, I expressed to him that I care a lot about the success of small businesses such as his and suggested that menu pricing could be more clear, the advertised products actually being served etc. He became very defensive and hostile, blaming my partner for several things that had happened and alternating between reasonings behind the price discrepancies. “If you didn’t like what I was doing and I made you feel unsafe, why don’t you speak up? You are a grown adult.” … those were his words to my partner. BE WARNED: many of the Google reviews and hygiene rating is from previous owners Eat Street, not Sage."

"Booked for NYE. When we turned up we were told there was no beef only chicken. At 8:30 on NYE you are stuck with nowhere else to go ! It’s very bad to have run out of the main product your business is basically promoting. Bad forecasting and management. Also 2 of the starters were also not available and gin served in a wine glass ??? Food is ok, but I do think we should have been given at least a discount or free drink due to the lack of Beef !! The whole pay before you eat at the bar cheapens the experience and makes it similar to eating at a Burger King now, plus staff can no longer receive tips. "coffee was fantastic, everything else was terrible. the service was slow, they have forgotten a job. the quality of food was bad for the prices they demand. it was told to the friyer that there were no chips, okay not your fault, and you replaced them for mist, what is something. then the chips appeared about 5 minutes later, waitress was obviously a bad day when they literally throw our chips on the table. chips were hot, but stone-resistant. it is a beautifully decorated place, but I wouldn't return."

"I visited this restaurant last Sunday and tried their authentic Indian cuisine. I had Vadapav paired with some delicious masala tea and thoroughly enjoyed it! I definitely need to visit again to try out more of their dishes. The service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I highly recommend trying their Pav Bhaji and Samosa.
