"I discovered this venue quite by chance, more because it was in a quieter part of Westfield, away from the crazy fast-food frenzy of the food court which is menacingly dominated by now ubiquitous giants of McDonalds, KFC and Burger King. For my part I have never even heard of Simone Remoli, although I am reliably informed, according to this restaurant 's signage, that he trained in the kitchens of the finest restaurants in Rome, then decided to travel to London to 'extend his knowledge '. That strikes me as a somewhat random choice, given that he was disappointed by what he found. Apparently, that was what prompted him to open his own restaurant, which is how the company came to be. A commendable, if very unoriginal aspiration, I 'm sure. Intrigued by the 'mix match ' concept of the place, I decided to give it a try. I liked that you are able to choose your pasta and your sauce separately, and everything is neatly categorized on a set of menu boards (see pictures). In the event, to save having to make a series of choices, it was easier to order one of the special 'signature dishes ', in this case the spaghetti aglio, olio e pepperoncino (spaghetti in garlic with olive oil and chilli). I also ordered some olives and bread on the side. The bread was a selection of focaccia with an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip (see picture), coming in at an extra £3.90. The olives were all very firm and green (see picture). also at £3.90. They were nice, but not worth the price tag. The spaghetti came with optional clams, adding another £4.90 to the £11.60 for the main dish, meaning the spaghetti alone cost £16.50! I was surprised at how quickly the pasta arrived, not having considered pasta as fast food before, but I guess it could be. To be fair the pasta was perfectly cooked (no less than I would expect) although it was only lukewarm. But it was good (see picture). The venue itself is actually quite an awkward shape, shoehorned as it is into the side of the thoroughfare, and on a kind of corner, and because of its position by the entrance it is a little drafty. Theoretically, it should be a pleasant vantage point from which to watch the passers-by, but in reality you are simply disturbed throughout your meal by an endless succession of groups of lairy and excitable youths. The chairs are all metal as well, so it isn 't an ideal venue to spend a lot of time in. With drinks, the entire bill came to £30.40 in the end. That is a lot for lunch. It is overpriced, and the portions are not overly generous, but I like the concept, so probably would return. Pass on the side dishes and extras and it would be far more palatable."

"I booked the premium pasta making masterclass for my partners birthday and I haven't stopped raving about it since. The restaurant was super helpful and accommodated a time change and then a further last minute change. On arrival we were relieved with a warm welcome. We met Chris our host and he made us feel at ease instantly! We were left to relax for a little while with a portion of Zucchini's famous garlic bread and we tried pasta crisps for the first time. We both said we would pick on the crisps throughout the session. But they wete so delicious we ended up eating them all in about 20 mins..... they were fab! The session itself was easy to follow and Chris signposted what we were doing at every step and then let us relax and make the pasta ourselves once he knew we understood. He was so attentive and kept popping over to make sure we all good. After the made the pasta we had the luxury of sitting a little bit off from the main restaurant. We were served 2-3 plates of our 5 pastas but actually only at 2 plates and we were stuffed! Chris helpfully packed all our pasta away for us and packed it in takeout boxes for us to take home. We both felt so well looked after and welcomed at Zucchinis! I would highly recommend the pasta making class to anyone. So worth the money and knowledge you leave with. Special shout out to Chris who was amazing from start to finish! A true asset to the business!"

"I was really excited to try Pastaio as I had seen all the amazing vegan pasta that they had on offer. However, I was quite disappointed by the size of the vegan or ‘green’ menu. There were quite a few starter options such as olives and focaccia but the pasta/main dish options were lacking (only 3 options). There was tomato pasta, courgette or meatballs and they said on arrival that they didn’t have the courgette pasta due to stocking issues so there were only two options which were both tomato. I had the Vegan Meatballs which were amazing. The meatballs were really big and the best I’ve ever had! The pasta was really unusual and you could tell it was all homemade and fresh. The tomato sauce was really nice but quite basic. My mum had the tomato pasta option which she really enjoyed but again, it was very simple and didn’t have a lot of sauce on it but the fresh pasta was the highlight. My portion was really big with the meatballs but my mums dish was significantly smaller. They did have some vegan dessert options but they were mainly sorbets and ice creams. The prices are decent but my meatballs dish was £14 which I think was quite a lot. The restaurant itself is really nice and has a cool atmosphere and the staff are super friendly. I would go back there again for a nice pasta dish but I was confused as to where their large vegan menu has gone? With the reduced menu they aren’t offering a lot and the options are very limited now. Updated from previous review on 2022-07-21"
