"I can't believe I lived in durham for four years and never visited this place. 30 years later, our day trip through the delicious eating here was not finished. I had the complete vegetarian breakfast and each aspekt of it was in front of location. perfectly cooked fried eggs, generous pieces of halloumi, beautiful toast, borons, mushroom, veggie sausage and a selection of juice all at a bargain price."

"After needing a quick car repair in Portslade, we found ourselves with an hour to spare. With our two children and dog in tow on a scorching day, we were in desperate need of breakfast and drinks. The nearest option was a small cafe that didn't look too appealing from the outside. However, with our time constraints and hunger pangs, we decided to give it a try. To our surprise, the food at this cafe exceeded our expectations and surpassed its unassuming appearance. They offered a variety of options for vegetarians, vegans, and those with gluten sensitivity, in addition to the usual bacon sandwich. The freshly prepared food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were so reasonable that I am willing to make a special trip just to try more of their dishes in the future. Even our children enjoyed their meals. If you find yourself in Portslade, near Brighton, I highly recommend giving this cafe a chance."

"Really enjoyed our meal at the stag, we all ordered from the specials board as the full menu is not on offer on a Sunday. All our food was delicious and we will definitely be returning. Staff were attentive and couldn't fault the service. Only complaint if I had to be picky was that my reservation wasn't showing?? Fortunately this wasn't an issue at the time we dined as there were spare tables."

"My partner and I had a delicious meal here after the closing of my solo exhibition. We had the seafood bruschetta which was exquisite, as was our pasta mains. The owner was so lovely and offered us a taste of their homemade limoncello, which was the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend eating here for the atmosphere, good vibes, and beautifully prepared dishes. We will be back !"

The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. The decor is modern and visually appealing, creating a nice atmosphere. However, the music was quite loud for a weekday lunchtime, and the dance tracks may not appeal to everyone. While the menu is extensive, I noticed a lack of vegetarian options, which was disappointing for a healthy eating establishment. I would recommend adding more vegan and vegetarian dishes to better cater to diverse dietary preferences."

"Very pleased with the service. We were running slightly late for our reservation but despite they were closing at 10 pm (we booked for 9 pm they still made our experience great without rushing us out. "Impromptu Thursday dinner at Paesan. Seemed to be a few walk ins, which were well accommodated. Service was attentive and friendly, but at one stage it got very busy loud think our timing was a bit too good, in that everyone wanted to pay at the same time so it took a while! Decent meal though c£50pp with a cocktail/wine each."
