"Went with a friend to try out the Sunday roasts. I had the beef and he had the chicken. We wanted a starter of pigs in blankets but these were sold out. Also, there was only one beer available on tap, so this is clearly not a beer-drinker's pub!! The pub really needs to improve in this respect. Although my beef roast was very tasty (and the maple-roasted carrots were superb), I was seriously disappointed with the portion of beef, as there were just two small slices. I would have liked double that! On the other hand, the chicken roast portion size was excellent, and my friend was delighted with his meal. So the lesson here is to avoid the beef and have the chicken instead! We also tried the beef-dripping chips and the sticky toffee pudding, both of which were great. There is no doubt that the food quality is really good, so it's such a shame that I was left disappointed by the meagre portion of beef. The pub itself is very comfortable, with great seating, and there are board games available for children to play. The toilets are clean and the staff friendly and helpful."
