"Booked a Dome at The Merry Fiddlers in September for our daughters 30th in December. All started well dome was nicely decorated and cozy warm, And Bluetooth speaker connected this was 7.30pm……orders were taken all from the set menu. 2 hours later and 4 rounds of drinks down we received our starters. According to the lovely young lady’s serving us the chef hadn’t turned up. When the main meals did eventually arrive (10.30) the Yorkshire puddings were still frozen (yes frozen not just cold) it was then the stand in manager was called, to be fair offered us a round of drinks which half of us declined as we had already been sat there drinking for 3 and a half hours. On leavening he offered a discounted bill and a half hearted apology but to be honest the shine was already missing from the whole evening. Such a shame because what started so well ended disappointing."

"I phoned to ask if we were able to take our dog and the landlady advised we were very welcome to, but due to a problem with a supplier the full menu wasn't available. She was very apologetic and suggested that we might prefer to try a different night to avoid being disappointed but as we were only in the area that night I said we would still come and I'm glad we did. The staff were very welcoming indeed and the Green Thai Curry and Meatballs were delicious. We then decided to share a Lemon Tart and Chocolate Fudge Cake but couldn't decide on cream or ice-cream so were offered both, but we were very pleasantly surprised when the lovely young man serving us decided to bring us a sharing plate with an additional chocolate tart and strawberry ice cream as well."
